So what do you guys have for breakfast? It seems we have a lot of fitness fanatics and some guys and girls with great knowledge but just what do you eat in the morning to help you get through an hard days work and then training?

I really struggle eating breakfast. I am no big fan of cereal, toast or all the disgusting stuff that I buy thinking it must be good for me and I really can not be bothered messing around making a smoothie. If I eat anything it will be some fruit, maybe a couple of banana's and the odd apple and orange with maybe some beef jerky or cooked chicken. I am English so I also need the odd cup of tea.

I know it is supposed to be THE important meal of the day so any advice on foods that will help me along with my training? If anyone wants to tell me that bacon sandwiches are good for me I will be eternally grateful.

Since I'm not training right now, I eat pretty much anything :D .

But a good Breakfast for me would probably be Oatmeal, Eggs, Fruit, and Whole Wheat Toast.

3-4 egg omelete with unions, bacon and cheese. Few pieces of fruit and a protein shake. Lasts me about 3 hours before I'm hungry again.

Try to include whole grains, protein and fruit:

Low fat yogurt with fresh fruit and a little bit of cereal or granola on top.

or

Whole wheat toast with peanut butter and a banana

or

Oatmeal with dried fruit and nuts and a glass of milk.

...and black coffee. :D

blend whey protein powder, rolled oats, a banana and some strawberries and drink. Then later on I will have boiled eggs with whole meal bread or four rounds of whole meal bread with marmite. Or some times beans on toast (wholemeal always)

Rolled scottish oats. Cold soya milk. Quick, easy, no messing around, also tasty imo. 527 calories, 82.3g carbs, 19.1g protein and 13.8 fat. I have had that as breakfast pretty much everyday for the last 4 years.

If you think hard about what foods would be most productive for you on a training day and fill you with the best slow release carbs , your choices are endless..

Evander Holyfield in training camp....

Always , a couple of Pancakes, mashed potatoes , two or three eggs with 1 yolk.. (poached) .. wheat Toast...

And that was a multi belt heavyweight ledgend..

I know most heavyweights love Oatmeal, and bananas.. great energy foods..

The key also is lots of fluids... Body being well hydrated is essential, Juice, tea , coffee (decaf) water..

God bless...

God bless... My kind of breakfast. I was wondering... is there such thing as drinking too much water if you are trying to lose weight. I drink TONS of water during a single day. There isn't anything wrong with me (i.e. diabetes), it's just that water is the only thing I drink. Anyway, I am trying to lose weight and I feel that everyday when I drink this much water it kinda defeats the purpose of my attemted weight loss.

Water is very very good for you if you're trying to lose weight. It might not seem like you're losing pounds possibly because of water bloating, but you need water and a lot of it. I drink 3-4 liters a day on top of whatever else I drink.

whole grain cereals, something that has some fiber and protein, different ones depending what is on sale

or oatmeal. I use the microwave oatmeal, though Ive read the old fasioned kind is healthier but I dont have patience for that shit.

in either case I like to add raisins and honey to it with milk.

The only downside is pissing all the time:lol:

I drink a shit load of water when ever I work out. Ive probably had 80 oz of water today or more. I have been pissing constantly. Also I will have to wake up in the middle of the night to go and I hate that shit

Me too. I have to piss almost once every hour. It's crystal clear though so I must be doing something right

Protein shake - Apparently increases the body's metabolism for the day.
+ anything with slow release carbs are pretty good.
A warm glass of water is the best way to wake up...less of a shock to the system as a hot/cold drink.

Yep. Drinking loads of water and needing to piss all teh time is awful especially in the middle of the night when I can not be bothered gettting up to go to the loo, I prefer to wait and see what happens. Although accidents can happen I think my method works well.

I hate it too. But if I wake up having to go and try to ignore it and go back to sleep, Ive found it will wake me up again and again until i eventually go. It is annoying if I am having problems sleeping.

At least three grains, three fruits, and three vegetables mixed with juice in a blender.

Fish, chicken, or eggs

After my run, I usually have a small banana, 2 oz of porridge cooked in milk, a poached egg, drained tuna in brine from the can and some green tea, but I am not a champion, unfortunately.

Just have a empty bottle next to the bed and go from there. You will need to wash it out once a week though.
