If you experienced boxers/trainers had to pick one thing for a fresh, new to the sport boxer in training to really work on and get down-pat perfect for their best results for once they start sparring, what would it be?

footwork and jab
I know its 2, but they are a tie in my book. Also conditioning.
With good footwork, a good jab, and good conditioning, you can win fights

I have heard many times "a good jab". I am new and so I must ask what exactly is a really good jab? I ask because it seems like such an easy punch when I have been practicing it. Obviously I have noticed that many great fighters could win because of their jab so I would guess maybe you are talking a really accurate and quick jab will win fights?

I figured footwork and stance were kind of interconnected. I know a trainer can smooth over most of my questions but I dont want to go and get a trainer while im out of shape. Im just trying to learn as much as I can so I dont embarass myself in a few months when I do decide to get one

How you move forward and back, left and right, hands high, chin tucked.

It depends on the fighter if he is tall with long arms I would work more jabs and straight rights, if he is short I would learn him to fight inside.
