Betham VS Chan

I feel this is a good step up fight for Monty. Chan is a tough customer and at 4-4-1 his record is deceiving, he doesnt get blown out easily with only one stoppage loss, he has two Split Decision defeats which could have gone either way, has a 1st round KO win over Daniel Baff and a 6 round Ud loss to Daniel Ammann whos probably one of the top 5 cruiserweights in Australasia. He's been 10 rounds before so his stamina is not in doubt.

I think Chan has a good Chin, can bang a bit, goes the rounds, is tough and has fought tough opposition so hes ring hardend all the qualitys needed to at least provide Betham with a good test if not secure an upset as Betham is still an unknown quantity!

If it goes the distance and was a close fight Monty will always get the nod they'll look after him!

Chan's best bet is to go straight for Monty and put him off his game, upset him and not let him feel comfortable

He's looking ok but against limited opposition, this fight against Chan will show us where hes at.

Looks to be a little too open to being hit though but his chin has not really been tested as of yet still you dont want to leave it out hanging even if its granite

james chan is a tough and has a good chin. i saw him fight clinton johnson and that was a good fight.
