Golden Gloves in South Africa have pulled the plug on the October 25 show. This fight might be re-scheduled for December in the US

Very disappointed in all of this.
Hope Jackson gets another opportunity.

What is the IBO's stance on this? is this a mandatory defence? will you give them a timeframe to contast the title?

That is disgraceful fairweather friend behaviour by Golden Gloves South Africa. Its a setback but the card is set, the marketing is set, the broadcast is set, the sponsors are set. And who suffers the most, the boxers who have been let down.

I think there is a great chance the card will be salvaged.

This was for the vacant title. I had tried to save it by suggesting Grange's show the same month. Rodney for his reasons has decided otherwise. They are now looking towards a US show in December which hopefully can be accomplished and both fighters get their opportunity then. Obviously I was keen for Jackson to keep hold of his opportunity

I spoke to Jamie Myer yesterday. He was gutted that this fantastic opportunity has been taken away from boxing. Said he'd happily try and fix the card, but wouldn't know who to contact. A shame really. Boxing yet again misses out.

I am working on something at the moment. But there is a chance that Mashaba V Asiku could still be on in Australia before the end of the year! Fingers crossed!
