Alex Leapai VS Alipate (Albert) Li'ava
MAN, Li'ava is a sponge soaked up some of the biggest shots Leapai could deliver for 4 rounds. Leapai threw everything and the kitchen sink 10x over and couldnt hurt Li'ava who is a HUGE man at 5'7 and 119kgs. Looked like the 5th was going the same way as the last 4 Leapai landing consistant bombs and Li'ava soaking them up but with 15 seconds to go in the round Leapai unleashed a 5 punch combo with the last punch being a HUGE overhand right which lays Alipate Li'ava out like a Buffalo being shot from a helecopter. How Li'ava took some of the shots he did is beyond me hes a tough mother but thats about it VERY limited skills.
Leapai WKO5

Cameron is not punching straight, at all, when he has the guy hurt - I still think he's a chance to be KO'ed by Smith at this point. if Smith wobbles Cameron properly, I don't see Cameron lasting,

Straight punches Cameron - if you want to knock this guy out, the moment he's staggered, through the simple right straight down the line.

Fantastic fight, Terry Smith is a warrior how he hung in there I'll never know. Best heavyweight fight in New Zealand for a VERY long time. Both guys gave it EVERYTHING its fights like these that make boxing what it is, both guys can take there hat off tonight and they have both gone a long way to restoring some pride and respect to the sport of boxing the way they fought tonight.
good win for Shane, sets him up nicely. I still think he gets hit to much and a guy who can REALLY bang can take advantage of this. No doubtd about it both Cameron and Smith wil never be in a boring fight

Apparently could be Vakas last fight tonight as he wants to spend more time with the fmaily would be a shame to llose a guy like Vaka to the local scene

Anybody see Cameron getting beaten by any Aussie HW's?
The Tuaman
09-28-2008, 05:40 AM
I cant see any of the Ausie heavys Shane hasnt fought beating him. He's already stopped Wilson and Mirovic. Haumono isnt in his league, there is talk about Hopoate VS Cameron next.................would be interesting to watch but Cameron SHOULD beat Hoppa easily. I think Leapai has a chance of beating Shane, Leapai can hit and his agressive if his own chin holds up could be a very interesting fight. Nathan Briggs just cant take the kind of shot he'd have to take to hang with Cameron.

Good news for Hoppa and his fans.
Hoppa doesnt need Shane, Shane wouldnt mind Hoppa however because its a good money fight as it would create ALOT of interest and its 90% that he KO's him (nothing in boxing is ever 100% certain.)
Hoppa should stick to picking off a few more guys on the Aussie circuit, Nathan Briggs, Pieter Cronje and perhaps Leapai (although i think Leapai beats Hoppa and Cronje would be a tough fight) then perhaps look at doing what Sol is bringing down US guys may as well stick to his market afterall the name Hopoate means jack all outside of Australasia

I think fighting Shane is a bad move for Hoppa as we all do.
I think Hoppa should fight Briggs next and that would be a huge fight that should be very close and a great match...Briggs with boxing smarts and Hoppa with power and now able to go 10 rounds....very interesting.
