Big fights coming up for the Premier Three in British Boxing.
Time to test the water for predictions. Here's the schedule:
(1) Joe Calzaghe v Roy Jones Junior
(2) Ricky Hatton v Paulie Malignaggi
(3) David Haye v Monte Barrett
All three Brits will be favourites in their respective contests, but in my opinion none of them are gimmes. Three losses (not probable I know, but possible all the same) and British boxing is on its ass; Calzaghe and Hatton would probably retire and David Haye would have a major rebuilding operation to undertake.
I still lean towards a 3-0 outcome: Calzaghe UD, Hatton UD, Haye KO; but, as I said, I think they are all competitive fights. I'm no fan of that transexual prostitute Paulie, but I think his bout with Hatton is the closest one to call.
How do the rest of you feel?
Anyone think there is an upset looming in one of these contests?
