It kinda shows the demise of Ricky Hatton when a thread like this is bombing.
pre Mayweather, if hatton had done this show this thread would have done 100 replies, no bother.
This isnt a dig at Hatton or the thread starter, just an honest observation from my good self.
So why does Hatton go from THE subject to talk about to a mere afterthought in the slipstream of Calzaghe & Haye in under a year?
Cos lets face it, Hatton lost to the best. Even I could not have envisaged Hattons fall from grace to be so sudden given the circumstances.
The time this show came on and the lack of promotion for it are a bigger reason this bombed. Look at his show on Sky before the Lazcano fight. That got a lot of attention.

Awful show.
Did you see the too serious presenter guy try pretending to enjoy himself? He couldnt disguise the fact that he thought it was beneath him.
Also telling us how we can get tickets and go to a show and 'have as much fun as they were having?':blood
Plus the stupid darts game.
It was a copper bottomed barrel of shite.

its being repeated now
**Edit**
I actually think its supposed to be low budget give it that whole "Ricky Hatton man of the people" look though NutsTV's budget probably has something to do with it also:lol:
I imagine if it gets good response it will be picked up by a bigger station in time for for his fight with Paulie to give it extra promotion

I think it is just genuinely cheap, shoddy and uninspired more than an ironic nod to Ricky's 'one of the lads' routine.

thats a very relevant point, and i myself am one of the many who "worshipped" hatton before the floyd fight, since he lost i think its just the fact that hes no longer unbeaten, and no longer as great as he was IMO,personally i think hatton is more past it then calzaghe. haye and calzaghe have much more appeal nowadays

You disrespect Hatton because he had the balls to fight Floyd and lose, but you respect Calzaghe because he never made the effort to get in the ring with prime Roy Jones. You worship the fake 0?
Personally I have far more respect for Hatton for losing convincingly to a prime elite fighter (also ATG,HOF) then I ever do for another fighter who never ever made a fight (in 15 years) with even a prime top ten man let along a prime HOF, and ATG.

It just goes to explain why boxers often don't take the risk of taking on real fights.

If this is the response of hatton doing a TV show jesus wet imagine him being a captain on question of sport the haters would have a field day.

I dont think were attacking Hatton, were just saying its a terrible show.
Its largely the production values, not Ricky, that we rate as substandard.
He wouldnt be so exposed and bereft on AQOS.I dont like it,but it is professional and polished.

He was well pissed off when asked who'd win out of him and khan.."You must be one of them people that think your dead hard down the phone" steady ricky, letting ya guard down there son, hes only asking.........
Ive not seen the show and to be honest i dont really want to. Hatton is just selling out lately, he should leave these shows, etc for after his boxing career.
Still Britains number one draw though.
I like Ricky but this show was a pile of shite, turned off before Jane Couch, but that was based largely on her performance on Superstars a few weeks ago...

That was weird. He punctuated it with nervous forced laughter as well.Like he wanted to make his point, but also pretending he was joking.
Odd.

I wouldnt, nor would i make a big deal about it.

The show was just dire, the whole thing just had an awkwardness about it. Hatton's jokes are lame to say the least, and hearing Amir Khan state 'again' he is going to 'come back stronger', is more annoying each and every time he uses it, he has used that term to death in every post 'KO' interview. The show tried to come across as 'a lads' programme, the only thing missing was Ricky's 3 wheeled van to make the Del Boy image complete.:fire

to be honest i think hatton has become a victim of overpromoting himself. All his gags have become old hat. He should just stick to fighting and do the occasional gig or chat show..to keep that mystique that all fighters need!
