Do they have city wide or like regional tournaments? Or is it national?

all of the above.

LBC >> Region >> National

You have to have a minimum to enter the tournament proper and advance. However, some do have match bouts for those who don't yet have 5 bouts.

If you don't have 5 bouts then weight classes don't matter.
What's your experience?

Yes, it's an annual tournament. It already happened for this year. And the weight classes are standard amateur classes. Christ, just get in the gym and your coach can teach you all this stuff and determine when it's right for you to start entering the major tournaments.

What's your experience? Not enough to enter yet. I was just inquiring about the organization.

But sitting at home and not sweating is soooo much easier.

I agree, but makes you feel pretty unaccomplished and shitty...

And in the Golden Gloves it's also organized by Franchises, which are sometimes made up of LBC or State Golden Gloves. For example, Detroit is it's own franchise from what I remember; so is Kansas City and New York Metro.

Ok thanks. I was just trying to figure out what exactly it is.

It's an organization that's a member of USA Boxing.

Yep. For me it went local to regionals to states to nationals. I only made it to states, so couldn't tell you much from there.
