Sorry if this has already been posted but David Haye's given an interview here;

Some of Mr Haye's comments in the interview:-
"In the first couple of rounds I'm going to get a couple of guns bouncing off my chin and how am I going to react? ...
... I don't want to waste anyone's time. If I can't take it, I might as well find out now - what's the point in me dragging it out against a load of bums and then getting in there against someone like Klitschko and being found out? ...
...Let's get it over and done with nice and quick and find out whether I'm the goods or not."
Refreshing to see such an honest tone and sober assessment of his situation. Then again, he could just be bigging up Monte to make the anticipated victory more impressive to the world.

That sums it up really
His comments are honest and refreshing ... but people will still look for excuses and undertones
He gets the benefit of the doubt from me, I see no reason to question Haye, he's proved he will take the challenges

Yep read his comments yesterday and I was impressed and glad to hear him talk sense instead of the now usual poop that he has been coming out with. Haye is a great guy and I hope he comes through Monte awesomely.

Sure does make a change from the b/s that flows from people like Amir Khan. Haye is honest and frank and will not do the Amir type spin about learning from a loss and that champions learn from defeats.

He repeats himself a few times in that interview - but apart from that it is a good attitudte to have. We want to see if he is for real - he seems in a good place mentally and I think Haye will do well. He has power and speed and the extra weight will make him a even better fighter at heavyweight so I think he is the goods. However this is evened out by the heavyweights being bigger and stronger and punching harder than the crusierweights.

I think Haye reckons he can take the big shots (I'm not saying he's right, I'm not convinced) and is saying this to promote the fight.
I remember hearing him saying something similar in the lead up to the Enzo Macc fight. It's obvious he knew Enzo would never get near his chin.

From the Daily Mirror yesterday...
"If I can't get through Monte, then I'm definitely not going to be able to beat Wladimir Klitschko, so I'll probably call it a day," said the 27-year-old former undisputed world cruiserweight champion.
"If I stumble at the first hurdle, I'll look a joke, so what's the point?"

yeah i like hayes style, basically he is being honest. He is confident of victory, but is not putting too much pressure on himself. I think its refreshing. I hope he wins and wins well, britan needs a a decent heavyweight to erase the memorys of fraudleys long term plan to win the world title in 5 years...well he did win the wbu strap didnt he against the "dutch mike tyson"..so job done. Iam looking forward to haye shaking up the divison that has become stagnant over the last few years!

It must be said Haye sounds in a good place mentally.
Unlike his previous victim Enzo Maccarenelli who still seems to be mentally torturted by his mistakes during their fight.

Monte is no push over. He`s seen better days but he`s definitly no gimme. This is a very good fight for Haye and will be a solid indication of how good or bad he will be at heavy.

i think haye might be having doubts, on bunce's boxing hour he deemed subdued for some reason, maybe he was just overtired after the presser etc
as this fight has got closer he has stopped the talk of how he will clean out the division,
i mean in the interview he actually states if i stumble at the first hurdle he will look a joke, he shouldnt and hopefully isn't thinking like this very often
Im not a fan of Hayes but since he has started to tone down his attitude he is beginning to grow on me.
Also his fight with Barrett is a good one, although Barrett is 3-3 in his last 6 fights, he has power and is durable and theres only Klitschko and Couser who has blown him away, Haye will have gained a good result if he stops Barrett imo.

Haye must by have a rough idea by now how he is going to handle HW power from sparing.
