Somebody else posted this whole fight earlier. This is what happens when you attack a counter puncher with good defense without utilizing the jab.

People just have short memories. Floyd's fight with Baldomir was his first real dull one in 3-4 years. He's had some entertaining fights. Same with Ricky. Hatton hasn't been the most entertaining fighter lately with too much wrestling, but he's certainly had his share of crowd-pleasing performances.

I used to find Floyd a lot more entertaining in these days. The Chavez fight was also great.

Man, and this was early floyd. Not even Floyd Floyd. This is one of his best performances to me. Due to his constant activity.

Lol you act like a kid. I liked him as a fighter more when he was at the lower weight classes, and I give him credit for his great performances. I liked the Burton, Chavez, and of course Corrales performances.
Now I think he is a pompous ass. If this hurts your feelings, so be it. Not everyone has to ride his sack, your doing it just fine.

People just love to hate Floyd. His only fights you could even begin to consider boring were Baldomir and Hoya.
He's fighting a smaller guy in Hatton, so he'll sit down on his shots more.
Go watch Floyd vs Diego again, and tell me Floyd can't box, brawl, fight and POP.

Burton is far from a bad fighter and he comes to fight and is not elite but not a bad fighter. He is like the best skilled C level guy.

Why would I want to represent gayness like you. I just think if you bet on margarito in any world class fight you deserve the avatar and a little man-love. But hey thats you, no-homo. But anyway, you have to admit there a lot of gay avatars around and you all seem to hate floyd. So if I got the wrong guy, then dont get all snippy..Twan.....lol

No you have the right guy, I dont like Mayweather. I do give him credit though for being a great fighter and for fights like these. And no I didnt bet on Margo for any reason related to Floyd, I thought he would beat PW.

But it is funny how you guys spin reality. I mean he runs he pot shots he is scared of all these fighters. He fought all soft competition coming up. He cherry picks every fight just b/c he wins it you say the guy was never a threat. I dont understand the blind hate. I just dont get it.

People just love to hate Floyd. His only fights you could even begin to consider boring were Baldomir and Hoya.
This is how I've seen his fights this decade:
Goyo Vargas: dull
Emmanuel Burton/Augustus: entertaining
Diego Corrales: OK in terms of entertainment, brilliant performance
Carlos Hernandez: started out good, but once Floyd hurt his hand, it became ugly and on the dull side.
Jesus Chavez: entertaining, possibly the most exciting fight Floyd was in.
Jose Luis Castillo I: good close, competitive fight.
Jose Luis Castillo II: dull
Victoriano Sosa: average. A jabbing clinic, but I did enjoy watching Mayweather's defensive moves.
Philip Ndou: entertaining
Chop Chop Corley: entertaining
Henry Bruseles: OK
Arturo Gatti: sort of like the Corrales fight, although it had more action, and not quite as brilliant a performance (Chico was levels better than Gatti).
Shambra Mitchell: OK
Zab Judah: pretty good. Zab gave Floyd trouble early on but Floyd adjusted and Zab (as usual) did not adjust.
Carlos Baldomir: Boorring.
Oscar De La Hoya: decent. It was more exciting while it happened because of the suspense, being such a big event, and being competitive, but it doesn't have much replay value.
That being said, I think Floyd's conservative actions in the last couple of fights is a cause for concern. Of course I could just be overanalyzing things.

I will never forget this fight. Floyd was actually talking to Lampley in the middle of one of the rounds. There wasn't even a lull in the action. Floyd was hitting Bruseles, and then Lampley asked who he thought would win between the Eagles and the Falcons in the NFC championship game. Floyd truned is head real quick and stupidly picked the Falcons.

This shit is just downright FUNNY!!
C'mon Too Pretty, look at styles and similarity of matchups when you wanna draw comparison's to what will take place in this fight.
Hatton fights NOTHING LIKE AUGUSTUS!!!! I'm not discrediting the fight, it's a decent win, but EA is a journeyman known for up and down performances. The 35-28-6 record kind of screams that. His style is bouncing, dancing, and shooting, not pressure, inside fighting and BODYWORK. Here's a little perspective on THAT fight, Augustus lost to John John Molina and Teddy Reid in the 7 months preceding PBF and lost to Mickey Ward(great fight far better than PBF vs Augustus) and Lenoard Dorin within the 11 months following.
Hatton is gonna look more like JLC 1 and DLH ONLY MUCH MORE INTENSE!!! :good
Also, Floyd was at a lighter weight and hasnt displayed a high workrate since what 02, 03??? Yall Floyd fans are SEARCHING, YEARNING, AND STRETCHING with the comparison's and seem to ignore those that are most similar.

Yea, if you were smacking around a bum?? You might be able to talk shit in the middle too. Bruseles had ABSOLUTELY NO BUSINESS being put in that ring with PBF. That fight was a JOKE, even worse is PBf got 3 mil for beating up a STIFF:good

C Money...whatever man....lol yeah hatton does not have the reach...nor the ability to box if need be..lol..Mayweather will force hatton to have to box...just like you say hatton will force a fight for 12 which wont happen. Hatton cannot box that well. He will get owned. Floyd throws short crisp accurate punches and counter punches on the inside. Floyd was injured in castllo 1...Castillo 2 would be more like it if you want to compare.Unlike castillo and ODH hatton has no jab to hide behind to get in. He is not as big as ODH and not much of a one punch threat. ODH did nothing to floyd on the inside where hatton can only beat floyd. Same as castillo did very little but for 3 str8 rounds. WE WILL SEE..lol I am laughing at you ...not with you on this one..Sorry buddy.

And hey Cmoney. I bet hatton gets punch the same amount this fight. Counter uppercuts and catching leaping lulu all night. Hatton's fight game is too one dimensional he has no plan b. Plan A will not be effective against a talented quick fighter like floyd. At least not for 6-7 rounds needed to win or get a close fight.

Hey you're entitled to your opinion's, it's cool.
As for DLH?? He walked in and made it competitive AT THE END of his career. You dismiss hatton's ability because Floyd's you're hero, I got it:good DLH has never had the body attack of Hatton. While DLH was pitter pat slapping, Hatton will be delivering rib crushing shots. DLH failed to use his jab and didnt box all that well and still made it close.
Hatton's better than JLC and the only reason I bring it up is to show that it has more style similarity than PBF vs Augustus.
Laugh away my friend, i've done the same with you're comparisons of Collazo and Augustus as MODEL's for how PBF vs Hatton will play out. We've moved beyond personal attacks and it's all good.
You know I have said PBF is the slight favorite and could win this, but it will NOT resemble you're examples and will be a tough competitive fight no matter who wins. Cant wait for December:good

Floyd's never had a high workrate. He's a selective puncher, usually an accurate one, but his low workrate can be a weakness.

As I've said before, PBF will have to have the type of performance he had in the second Castillo fight to begin approaching what you're describing.
Even if he does?? You simply discredit Hatton too much IMO!!! Even if Floyd wins?? It damn sure aint gonna be by more the two or three points and stoppage?? Can only be had on cuts:good

What I was referring to is PBF had higher work rate's at lower weights than he's had recently at higher weights.
Floyd's never been the 100 punch a round type but he was more active earlier and its not uncommon for work rates to slow as weight increases.

PBF can be exciting. But not at 147 IMO. He isn't boring to me mind you, but at 140 and below, where he had more power and fought guys closer to his natural size, he went for it more. He doesn't have a high workrate, but he also threw more punches in flurries.
I think he will have to throw more combos than he has recently to keep Hatton occupied.

I think I'll check those facts again, Me thinks 135 is lightweight, did you watch the video??
The fight was at 134....but Augustus does have an incredible chin and has only been stopped by one other fighter in his career.
C Money
08-02-2007, 12:36 AM
No, the fight with Augustus was at 130, get your facts straight. And Augustus has an amazing chin and has proven it over and over against against big hitters at higher weights like Hurtado when he literally let him tee off. Augustus has an amazing chin and amazing heart.
We're talking a match between Floyd at 130 when he was at his best vs Pac nowadays basically. Prime for prime. Pharoah was the one who said it anyways. And you are wrong, because Pac is better at this weight and straight FW than he has been at any other weight. He is in his prime right now, and has grown into his body, whereas Floyd just loved up for the competition, and is smaller than everyone, unlike Pac.
Mosley was more devastating at LW being as he had like 30 or so fights there compared to 4 for Floyd, and Mosley didn't face as good a fighter at LW in 30 fight as Floyd did twice in Castillo.
It was at 35. PBF went back down to 30 to face Corrales.
As for SSM???? In fairness?? He didnt face the other LW's because he was chasing DLH and had to move up to get his shot. Something Floyd did 7 years later:lol:
Mosley was devastating at LW and no one was clamoring to fight him. At the time SSM?? Mosley and Johnston were the top two LW's and when that fight couldnt get made?? Shane moved up to get an OSCAR.
C Money
08-02-2007, 12:38 AM
The fight was at 130, Junior Lightweight. I know what fights were what. Check the facts again, this was early in Floyd's career. He had 4 fights at LW, two with Castillo, one with N'Dou, and one with Sosa. This was earlier in his career at 130.
edit: Check that, if this fight was at LW I have no idea why, but apparently they both weighed in at 134, so you may be right. Why would he just fight one journeyman at 135 and then go back to 130?
Because word was OUT, diego was having problems and since he had called out PBF he took the opportunity.
ALSO?? Because Spadafor had beat Floyd's ass long before the augustaus fight and Corrales at 30 was easier than Spadafora at 35 for Superlips:good

except that floyd doesn't put punches in bunches like that anymore. and most importantly, floyd isn't a lightweight anymore.
yes he had exciting fights back in the day at 130, 135, and even some at 140. but it doesn't change the fact that him fighting on the front foot these days is a rarity.
remember that hopkins back in the day was one hell of an offensive fighter, he was a come forward guy who would throw short, fast power shots, and at the same time being elusive kind of like a big roberto duran.
