"The legendary Petronelli’s gym in Brockton, Massachusetts, where Marvelous Marvin Hagler trained from his first day as an amateur to his last day as a pro, will be moving to a new location after 28 years. The gym, located on the third floor at 28 Petronelli Way, will be moving to a new location within the city due to building owners wanting to expand their restaurant business, add a pool hall, and rent out rooms as apartments or condominiums.
The gym was such a landmark in downtown Brockton that in 1999 city officials changed the name of the street to gym was located at from Ward Street to Petronelli Way.
Aside from the former middleweight champ Hagler, many other notable fighters trained at the gym. Former super middleweight titleholder Steve Collins trained there. Irish heavyweight Kevin McBride trained there leading up to his shocking TKO victory over Mike Tyson in 2005, and recently former heavyweight champ Riddick Bowe began working out there in hopes of making a comeback."-boxingherald.com
