you see...i can't pick...
prescott ko'ing khan still tells me fook all about prescott...
khan has no punch resistance...so prescott may not be at a level that ko'ing khan may suggest...he is unbeaten...but before khan he beat only low level oppenents...
then again...you can't really knock an unbeaten record...
i thought after thaxtons last defeat he was finished....but then he did that last week...but wont be doubting him so quickly again...
so...cant pick...

...that's why this fight would be worth making.

I don't think the Kahn KO tells that much about Prescots power (other than thats its at least reasonable) but the manner of the KO did show him to a be quick, accurate and composed puncher.
Thaxton looked truly awful against (the very good) Romanov and t the time I thought he should retire TBH, but the showing against the Spaniard was impressive even if the opponent wasn't and if thats the standard of challenger maybe Thaxton can still have good couple of fights in him defending the Euro belt.
Having said that I'd probably go with Prescott by late TKO.

If I were Thaxton, I'd seriously consider retiring on a high. He had one decent fight after Romanov, but he's still finished.

He maybe thinking that if Malero is the "best of the rest" after Romanov at Euro level that it might be worth sticking around? I agree though, I think he's finished as regards progressing any further.

Perhaps so.....
Another couple of decent paydays then retire. No point using the EBU title to piggyback upto world level and getting beaten badly :deal

Presscott will come out throwing those huge awful punches. Thaxton will move then hit him on the face. Thaxton win 33 seconds rnd1.

Hard to tell how good Prescott really is.
But if he is anywhere near as good as Romanov then he wins easily.
I would go for Prescott. We didn't really learn much about Thaxton last time. That Spanish guy barely threw a punch.
The last time he faced a guy that stood tall and punched accurately he got destroyed by Romanov.

I don't think we learned much from either, going by their last fight.
Prescott was certainly helped by Khan possessing a glass jaw and boxing like a complete prat - Thaxton certainly wouldn't stand there like a loony and try to trade shots with a guy who has 90% KO.
Whilst Thaxton was helped by the fact that his opponent barely threw anything in return - Prescott is certainly prepared to trade shots and would have seen unorthodox fighters like Thaxton aplenty in Colombia.
Tough one to call - as Thaxton is more proven I went for Jon on points, but wouldn't rule out a KO for Prescott.

Obviously we'd expect Thaxton to learn from Amir's downfall and let the fight settle down before making his moves. Got a feeling it may end up a rerun of the Romanov / Thaxton fight which would then leave us wanting to see Romanov / Prescott. That really would be an interesting match up.

Hmmm......
I see your point, but Romanov is a proven top class operator and Thaxton was clearly having an off night before being pulled out by his corner.
All Prescott did was what Willie Limond did - only this time it was impossible for the ref to do Amir a favour by forgetting what number came after six.....

He probably isn't as good as Romanov. But.....I'd bet my house on the fact that Richard Abril is a superior fighter to Thaxton. My opinion that Prescott beats Thaxton has nothing to do with Prescott's crushing of Khan, but more on his beating of Abril and (more importantly) the absolute mediocrity of Thaxton.
