Past or present.

For me, I'd say Rocky Marciano. He seemed like a nice, personable guy who was very down-to-earth...although I'd probably have to pick up the tab. :D

It would have to be Sam Langford for me.

Il wager I could learn a great deal.

You would indeed. I'd pick Jack Johnson if we're talking all time. From those living I'd pick Bernard Hopkins, though it would have to be a fruit juice.

Johnson KO1 Langford at drinking beer.

I would tend to agree though Johnson went over to wine after he won the title.

Young Griffo. I'b buy him the beer after I took a fresh air shot at his head, trying to knock him off his handkerchief. :D

Greg Page and Michael Dokes, but it's too late now. Also, Howard Davis Jr., but I don't think he drinks anyway.

Stanley Ketchell, the hard partying, womanizing, barroom brawling, ,pistol packing, psuedo cowboy. But I surely would have been sitting with my back to the wall, facing the doorway lest any armed , jealous husband came gunning for Stan while we were having our brewski's.

Jack Dempsey

Depends on how far Over the Beer we would Be ? would we be on seats suspended from the ceiling by chains ? or secured by study cables ?
Would the Beer be situated Directly under one of us (could be dangerous) ?
or placed approximately in the middle ? would we be swinging or Static when we spoke ?

Perhaps in these circumstancies, Ex Circus Acrobat Jorge Paez would be good

I could see myself relating well to guys like Pazienza, haugen and Cooney. Most fighters are morons though. A lot of those guys are way too full of themselves to casually shoot the shit with. I imagine that there are a lot of people who couldn't stand sitting in the same room with an asshole like Floyd Mayweather Jr. I certainly know I couldn't.

For me it would be Dempsey, modern day Duran. I guess I just admire those types of fights, especially considering their childhoods. Jack Johnson would also be right up there.

I feel like if I had a beer with Leon Spinks in 1978, I could have talked him out of at least a few thousand dollars.

Harry Greb, Willie Pep, Mike Tyson, Archie Moore, Sam Langford, Barbados Joe Walcott.

Pep would have ya on the floor tryin' to breath, you'd be laughin' so hard. He was on 24/7 -- never ran outta stories.

I'd pick my first hero in boxing, Carlos Palomino. A college educated world champion who could tell of his experiences in both the boxing world and the Hollywood acting world. A classy articulate guy. What could be better than that?
