All you guys saying Chad is fighting Tarver, unifying the division beating Woods... etc. Don't really follow boxing right?

Don King is currently in negociations with the WBC to have Dawson fight ONE fight before his mandatory defense against Diaconu BUT, the WBC doesn't want to hear any of it.

Lets say Don King pays enough money for them to change their minds and let him fight Tarver, the next in line is his MANDATORY = Diaconu.

After that, it all ends there. Diaconu is going to close the lights on chicken Chad.

I have to give Chad one thing though, I would also run like hell knowing Diaconu is my mandatory.

I hope he cashes out with Tarver.:rofl

Diaconu is a beast. People here under rate him.

Pimp C, he's ducking so maybe more like a duck then a chicken. I think his promoters (Shaw and King) are doing the right thing to prevent a match against Diaconu from happening because Chad isn't beating him. They know what Diaconu can offer and will do to their Super Star.

And yes, he is underrated here. Not for long though. When you all see him fight, you'll know he'S no bum. You'll also enjoy his agressiveness.

I have nothing against Chad, I just think Diaconu will beat him. End of story.:hi:

Don't worry Adamek is getting another shot against Steve C. ;)

Chad's a bad dude man, sure his chin is questionable but when you box your gonna be hit some people get floored and others do a chicken dance its how you recover, react and finish the fight that shows your true colors. I gues SRR, Ali, Joe Louis all had China chins too.

It's not called running when you plan on fighting the guy anyways and are just trying to make some good money in between. Diaconu hasn't beaten anybody to scare Dawson. He is a good come forward fighter, but Dawson isn't ducking him.

Exactly!

Diaconu will get his chance, most fighters with good potential always do. Dianconu fans need to be patient and his time to show and prove will come.

The post as a whole isn't horrible, but his statement that Chad's a chicken was out of line. King just wants to makes some more $$$ off Dawson before its mandatory time. If he can squeeze in one more money maker before Diaconu dethrons him, then that is what King has in mind.

Chad will beat Diaconu so bad that Diaconu soon will have brunch with Ceauşescu

I love it when fans of one fighter accuse a potential opponent of ducking when he's pursuing a bigger-money fight. That tells you right off the person isn't seeing things objectively.

Dawson still has no name at all with casual fans, and beating Tarver is better for him in both the short- and long-term. If AD is as good as you guys insist, he'll get his shot.

Too bad Adamek lost.

He was actually trying to make some progress in the division by taking on solid opposition in every fight.

If only Adamek defended against guys like Ruiz he would still be Champ.

Dawson has time until he needs to face his mandatory. What fighter in his right mind fights the mandatory first when you have a big money fight lined up, and you're still going to be able to fight the mandatory after the big money fight? That's not ducking, that's just not being an idiot. If Diaconu is so great and so confident, then why doesn't he fight someone for some extra cash while he's waiting for Dawson as well instead of bitching about needing to wait longer during the mandatory period? It's not like having Dawson/Tarver will make the period any longer before he has to fight the winner, PLUS if Tarver wins, then Diaconu gets a bigger money fight against a guy who's a better style matchup for him anyway.

And Thomas Ulrich is solid opposition????:patsch

Adamek will fight Tarver and destroy him then he will fight Diacau destroy him and then everyone will say he was an overrated bum who only beat a bum in Rico Hoye.

No he wouldn't. Fighting guys like Ruiz could turn you from Champ to Chump real quick!

Just a little joke. Chad's no chump. But he will be an ex-champ after Diaconu, though.

Buddy....you don't know the rules!........DAWSON is over-due to fight his mandatory!.......Adamek...the ex-champion gave Dawson a shot at his belt!.....according to WBC rules if an optional challenger (ex. DAWSON) wins the Title..he has to defend it against the mandatory challenger!.....After the fight with ADAMEK, he asked WBC permission to have an optional defence (with Ruiz in June)...which he was granted!
Diaconu became the mandatory in May in a final elimination fight as called by the WBC.
So now...no more excuses...... DAWSON....stop calling out the old farts Tarver, Jones, Hopkins and live up to your commitment as a WBC Champion: FACE your mandatory ADRIAN "WHITE TYSON" DIACONU!.....once you beat him then you are worth it of a big money fight with the old boys!

it's not a gimme that Dawson will beat Tarver...it's likely, but Dawson's chin is vulnerable and Tarver does have power in the left...

Why doesn't AD actualy fight a top 20 Light Heavyweight first before he gets a shot at the title.

Holyfield beats Bates & Saveresse & gets a title shot & I doubt either of those TC's are top 20.

Holy definitely doesn't deserve a title shot. It has nothing to do with AD, who probably would make for an entertaining fight, but you guys are forgetting something: Showtime built that Dawson/Ruiz bout on the basis that Dawson would fight Tarver this fall. That's where the network dollars are, and that's the fight Dawson almost has to make.

If Tarver bails -- still a real possibility, as far as I'm concerned -- then you can start talking about Diaconu for that spot.

Hoye was ranked top 20 when he fought Diaconu for the eliminator. He was actualy favorite to win the bout. He was schooled though.

Can someone please tell me, if Dawson is so confident in winning against Diaconu, why doesn't he dispatch him quickly and then move on to better things?

Can I hear chickens in the background?:rofl

Because Tarver may not be there later. He is older and has more name recognition. If you are looking for recognition, you go for the name fighter. He plans on fighting his mandatory in Diaconu.

Don't try and play that old tired game of "If it's so easy, why not". Let me ask you, what has Diaconu done to put fear into a man who beat Adamek?
