3-2 Oakey. Cleverly's choosing too fight on the inside and he's just not busy enough. Oakey winning rounds on aggression and cleaner punching on the inside. Hatton's in the crowd tonight.

Oakey's bleeding from his mouth. Cleverly is landing with his uppercut but needs to through it more often.

James DeGale at ringside. Reckons Cleverly is ahead and will win. I have it all level.

I guess they are hyping up Cleverly as he is young and they will show more of him in the future.

Fair play to Cleverly - thought he boxed, er, cleverly and used his brain to make the fight pretty easy as the rounds ticked away.

Will be interesting to see where he goes next as I'm not sure how competitive the commonwealth belt is. Most of the defences seem to be against Ghanians for other weights but can't think that there are likely to be many good light heavyweights from there!

Would be nice to see a few international fights for a change rather than the treadmill that Sky has served up over the last couple years.

Jim Watt, I love him as a scottish fighter, but how paid off is he? Cleverly holding for dear life, & Watt screaming "lovely" he infuriates me:twisted:

In a perfect world there would be a 'COMMENTARY OFF' button, cos to hardcore boxing fans the commentary is more of a distraction than a help.

& sadly enough, commentary sways too many people, as this thread proves. It has a brainwashing effect on those who dont have enough confidence to call a fight as they see it.

my stream started fucking up around round 10 at which point i thought cleverley was just edging it.

i was banking on oakey taking the last few rounds :(

He boxed well, but without power he'll struggle at a higher level. Only 21 though, to be fair.

I think once he properly grows in to the light heavy division his power will improve. he was under the weight wasnt he? looks like he could put some more muscle on.

I thought he performed pretty well. not sure why he decided to fight the first part of the fight in a style that was always gonna suit oakey, which meant he came out just about even over the first 7 or so rounds. Had he fought at range as he did in the later rounds, he'd of got a near complete shut out.

Oakey is definitely past his best now. the old engine just isnt there.

I have never been impressed with Cleverly, he has no power and is wide open, the fight was closer then the scores make it out to be, Dean francis would KO him.

Agreed, Francis would stop him. As you say his defence is poor and he drops his hands too much.
