Maybe wishful thinking, but I see Holyfield taking this one by decision

I think its going to be a good fight, Holyfield by TKO round 10.

Ibragimov will win a clear cut decision, but Holyfield will have his moments.

I had really been looking forward to a unifacation bout. Too bad, but this match-up will also be kind of interesting. Probably the end of Holyfield.

This will be an easy fight for sultan. DOn't forget how bad Holyfield looked against Toney and Donald. Holyfield needs to retire and I think Sultan is the man to do it.

Holyfield by UD,SD, or MD

split even so far...... I think its a pretty common consensus that it will be a close competitive fight either way it goes.

Holyfield will overcome the odds and win a competitive decision.

Holyfield might look good vs older fighters or weak oppositon, but Ibragimov is neither of the above. He's going to knock Holyfield out.

Ibragamov by close decision, possibly made wider by biased judging. Ibragamov is easily Holy's best shot, but I'm not sure Evander has the legs to keep up with a more active fighter anymore. There are about 15 other guys I'd pick to beat Ibragamov head to head, but Holy's not one of them.

Ibragimov wins this big.

Holyfield might have looked good against Lou Savarese but that fight doesn't hold much worth to me. Savarese is shot. And Holy hasn't fought anybody of real significance in several years. Plus I still saw signs of the same problem with Holyfield - an inability to pull the trigger at key times.

I'm sure Holy will have his moments but Ibragimov is an elite fighter.

Ibragimov by ko unless there is head butting or some other form of Holyfield cheating. Holyfield should not even have a top 15 rating much less a title shot. He has fought one guy who is top 50 since his return...Oquendo. big deal.

And Sultan has fought 3 (2 leading up to his title shot), so what is your point???

I want to say Holy by UD, but I voted Holy by TKO. I think Holyfield is going to lay it all out there against Ibragimov and get it done.

Evander will be up for this final chance and make a fight of it but if Sultan goes downstairs, he will wear Evander out for a tko

holyfield has to give everything left that his body has to give to win this one. i think its doable. he's always been good against pressure fighters....hopefully he has one last great fight left in him. not that he'll retire if he wins but hey it'd still be nice.

I can't believe people think Holyfield will beat Sultan.

Holy is going to get a beating and lose by KO or TKO.

As bad as holy has looked over the past few years, i still give him about a 50% chance of winning this fight. I cant get that fight with Sultan and Austin out of my head, the guy that fought Austin that night had no business even gettting to a title shot let alone winning it.

I think that it speck volumes to how bad todays heavyweights are when you think that a 45 year old shot fighter has a good shot.

hopefully holyfield catches a severe enough beating to bring him to his senses and his fanboys back to reality

obviously, getting embarassed (byrd, toney, donald) isn't enough to convince this geezer to hang it up

Not out of the question that Holyfield can't win this fight.

Sultan can be very solid when he chooses to be, but i have been in the oposing corner and when we added pressure to his game we had the man on the deck.. he swallows his heart as soon as the going gets really tough..

I think Sulan's youth and skill may make him the winner by UD but i expect a very good performance from Holyfield too. The guy is a legend but not done enough on his return to be in the ring for another title shot let alone win it.

Even at his advanced age, I still consider Holyfield to have a better chin than Sultan. If Ibragimov decides to trade with Evander, that may give Holyfield his chance to win this. Unfortunately, Sultan's best chance is to follow a game-plan similar to the Briggs fight and win a boring, wide margin UD.

I'm shocked how many people are picking Holyfield. He beat Savarese but that is no indication of his form as Savarese right now is nothing but a journeman, Jeremy Bates is another journeyman who even managed to hurt Holyfield. Fres Oquendo is past his prime and definitly below Ibragimov and gave Holyfield all he could handle. Ibragimov will dominate Holyfield and win every round.

Sultan will be the faster and more aggressive puncher for the first few rounds. But, Holyfield will be the more effective puncher down the stretch. Holyfield by TKO 9.

I remember people wanted to ban Holyfield from fighting, were thinking about his health but now when he is fighting for a title after defeating some journeman, people are picking him to win, amazing.

Yeah, a lot of them are hypocrites.
Said a lot of harsh things about him now they think he has a chance.

I've been behind Holyfield all the way.
He's got a good chance of beating Sultan, IMO, as long as he doesn't get injured.

Sultan Ibragimov hasn't impressed me at all, so far.

I think Holyfield knocks this dude the fuck out!
Round 9, clean KO.
That left hook he landed on Savarese.
I can see it going the way it did with Foreman and Moorer.
Sultan outworking Holy, Holy landing a couple quality hits here and there, taking the heat. Then a surge of energy from Holy, Sultan swat with his jab, drops his right hand a touch, and blam, Holy KO's the dude.

Heard it here first!

The left hook he landed on Savarese was one of the best - if not the best - he's ever thrown, and that's saying something.
His timing is good, his punches have snap.

Offensively he looks very capable. It's whether he can slip incoming shots and counter against a young opponent that are questionable. We'll have to wait to see.

I think its going to be a good fight, Holyfield by TKO round 10.

this is better than your pick of Briggs to easily beat Sultan, at least this time Sultan doesn't have to fear a big KO. Sultan easily wins a UD if not
a late KO. and you will dissapear for a while after this fight also.

yeah looking impressive against a 40 something Saverse does not translate into giving Sultan a beating, sultan beats him to the punch every time.

That's pretty much how I see it, Sultan will win the fight on workrate alone. I'm not impressed with Sultan very much at all, but he is better than any of the stiffs Holyfield has fought Bates and afterwards.

Amen. Fer Chrissakes people, Holyfield is washed up. So what, he beat a spent Lou Savarese and Fres Oquendo who is afraid to throw a punch. His speed is pretty much gone, and his skills are just a wisp of what they once were.

Ibragimov isn't the greatest heavyweight of all time, but he's an awkward southpaw, has excellent handspeed, and stinging power.

He will bust up Holyfield.

Butch Coolidge

If Holy was still at his best he would have KOed Savarese and he would have KOed Bates in 2 minutes.

Ibragimov appears to have a solid enough chin. Briggs landed a few hard shots on the Russian and he seemed to walk through them. I do not think SI will have the same kind of respect for Holy's punching power that he had for Briggs' punching power, that has the potential to be his undoing but, then again, he very well could KO Holyfield.

I anticipate Ibragimov catching Holyfield with one of his fast, awkward punches and flooring him early then catching him with more and more punches until Holy can't answer anything in the middle rounds and the fight is waved over.

You think Savarese is known for having a good chin or something? LMAO! He gets knocked out all the time, usually in the early rounds. FFS , 40 + year old Saverese survived the punch, and went the distance.

Sultan is going to demolish HGHfield. Too much handspeed, ring movement, power. You HGHfield fans are in for a reality check, dont forget to give Iggy credit when he slaughters Steroidfield.

I'm going to have to say the Sultan who fought circles around a shitty Briggs soundly decisions the Evander who fought circles around a shitty Savarese. But there's no guarantee we won't get some other version of either.
