"Chute Boxe Academy has split up my friend. None of the fighters got along with Coach Roberto (USA). Recently Anthony Johnson (UFC fighter) left the group because he couldn't get along with Coach Roberto. Ninja and Shogun will be moving to L.A. and taking over the gym. Ninja will replace Roberto, and is currently in contacts ([Only registered and activated users can see links]) with Johnson and other fighters who left, to re-assemble the team. Wanderlei will be fighting soon, and he will be training with Randy Couture in Vegas. They both promised each other that they would advance one another's game, and Wanderlei plans on training with Randy for a long time. They might even open a school together. As for Coach Roberto, he will be opening his own gym downtown. We wish him the best. This has nothing to do with Brasil, or Rudimar. We are currently in negotiations to change our gym name, to "L.A. MMA"

It has always seemed that there have been two "camps" within the Chute Boxe camp, those from the Pele lineage such as Shogun and Ninja, and those with a stronger connection to Wanderlei such as Cyborg, Acacio and Helio Dipp. I don't know how that all plays into this, if at all, but I can't think there is at least a little something to it after the recent split at BTT, where the Nogs, and Filho, and maybe Arona? left with Sperry and others stayed with Bustamonte.

Randy training with Wandy will be great for both of them, but it pretty much ruins any remaining hope I had of a Randy vs Wandy fight, which I wanted more than Chuck vs Wandy. This also basically has Randy training, or help train, every fighter in the world it seems, which speaks rather highly of him.

So Chute Boxe is pretty much finished?

end of an era, if true.

Trigg confirmed that Wandy will be joining Extreme Couture as a fighter and coach. He will working with others on muay thai, since Bas has been so busy with the IFL lately they have been lacking in that department.

It doesn't seem so, he just got married and his wife is pregnant, and I really don't think he plans to go to the US.
