Should be real interesting how Musson in particular goes against LoPorto & Venka against Medley.
I expect Tui Leveni, Tommy Browne & Danny Price to dominate their matches.

Hey Kegsy/Guys

Yea im very keen to hear how Mussons bout goes I have matched all his bouts so far. Tough fight for him, but we have always said we wont back away from a tough fight. It's hard to secure suitable matchups in NZ and he has a fight against Jaime Waru scheduled for Dec. 5th as a bounce back fight in anycase. I think if the occasion doesnt get to him Ray will put up a great fight and as tough as LoPorto is it wouldnt suprise me if Ray scored an upset!

But also there are a host of kiwis fighting

David Wiremu
Harry Venka
Dion McNabney
Jeff Stutt.

I think Wiremu is in it for the pay cheque these days. Stutt will always try, he shook the rust against Vaitele Soi 6 weeks ago and looked ok against a guy who was supposed to go to the Olympics for Samoa. McNabney always comes to fight and is always fit against a 2-0 Steve Cassidly id expect him to put up a decent showing

Venka can box, and hes a tough kid as well can take a good shot. He's a bit like Musson in that its difficult to get them regular matchings although we have kept Musson busy siince he turned pro.

Would appreciate your comments after the fights Kegsy. Hopefully someone will do a RbR

Thanks Kegsy, Mussons is my man boy. But i got Stutt out of retirement for the bout against Soi. Good to see him given a shot and a decent pay cheque and a slot on Fox Sports for his troubles. Thaught McNabney was facing Cassiderly? Steve?

Up date as when u can

Casserley pulled out injured a couple days ago.
New Aussie Light Middleweight champ Tui Leveni (who i must add is very impressive) took the fight in the last 24-48 hours.
I have heard some nice things about your boy Musson, will watch him closely then. If there will be an upset tonight, i was backing Musson even before i spoke to u on here.
Medley vs Venka could be interesting too, Medley aint invincible thats for sure.
Wiremu i fear like McNabney will struggle tonight.
If only we had more FOX cards to get more exposure for some of these hard working lads.

Looks like Ray was the only kiwi boy to stay upright last night! Proud of him for stepping up and this was a Big step for him. Got a text from Pat Kennedy saying Ray is one tough Kiwi mother........and he fought well and take away the knockdown in the 2nd it was closer than what the scores suggested. Havent seen the fight so cant comment.

Suprised Medley got rid of Venka in 2.

The Venka fight was strange one mate. Venka had a terrific jab, used his reach well and alround looked a decent fighter.
He then took a few shots, nothing brutal and didn't want to get up? My guess he was either injured or he didn't want to be there.
Your guy 'the muss' was tough as nails, bit cheeky with his elbows though!! La Porto threw everything at him and the little bloke wore it all, very entertaining.

Venka is a very tidy boxer, i thaught he'd give Medley a real good go last night. I've seen him take some decent shots and they never seemed to bother him much. Can only but quess that he took a shot or two and decided they were alot more powerful than he had tasted in the past and quit not wanting any part of it? Either that or he did pick up an injury?? Disappointing really, because Harry has the potential to be a very good regional fighter.

Musson is as tough as they come mate, moving down to Welter next year. The kid just loves to fight. He may be far from pretty at times in the ring and it doesnt suprise me he had the elbows going but theres no quit in him he'll come all night long and is wanting to knock you out from the 1st bell till the last. He'll never be in a boring fight!

It was pretty obvious Venka took a couple big shots & unfortunately didnt wanna be there.
The final straw was a nice combo by Medley finishing with a uppercut that tilted his head back pretty wickedly on the inside.

Musson was tough as nails. Me & Pat were discussing that last night & he won a tonne of respect too.
I had it 59-54, but rounds 1 & 3 in Musson's fight were close. I split them 1 each way.
The knockdown came in the 2nd & he seemed to fade towards the end losing all 4 thru to 6.

McNabney got absolutely massacred by Tui Leveni's power, despite looking not too bad on the outside.

Jeff Stutt traded some hard shots with Danny Price, but i feel Price's youth & better conditioning shone thru. Price is still got a tonne of work but i feel an Aussie title is def on down the road.

David Wiremu really surprised me. He worked his guts out to make the night as difficult as he could for Tommy Browne. Browne was loading up a bit too much & Wiremu had him heavily frustrated. It was just a accumulation of hard shots that led to Wiremu's demise.

Wiremu was a tough bugger. Tommy Browne was just looking for the one punch all night, interesting to see how he goes against Zappa.

Does anyone know whether Medleys staying at middleweight? Helooked good last night.

Pretty ordinary night of boxing imo, fell asleep in the main event but well done to all the guys.

Wiremu was tough as nails no doubt.
Medley fought at 155 just over the Light Middleweight limit.
He is getting married then campaigning at Light Middle.
His frame wouldnt suit him well any higher at this stage.:deal

Browne looked ok but had problems with a limited fighter. Zappa has way 2 much class for him.....and he may even stop him.

I agree Ashley. If Tommy tries that against Zappa it could be an early night, pretty ordinary boxing performance.

Geez i'l second that call about wiremu, he was a tough dude! I also thought he had fairly good skills but he was alot smaller and possibly not as strong as browne and it showed. I'd say if browne fought like that against zappa when zappa was on song would be an early night, when he threw those power shots he was putting himself off balance constantly
