What do you guys think if salvador was the p4p king of the early 80's, and went up to 135.
Do you guys think he could carry up his power/speed ? or would that be too much weight.

Tough question. I think he'd edge out Arguello at 126, but I'd favor Arguello above that. If you look at some of the guys in the rankings, circa '82-83, I'm going to speculate that he'd be favored against most of them: Mancini, Ramirez, Rosario, Bramble, Ganigan. Lots of different styles there. I don't think he beats Arguello at 135, but I think he'd have done well against the rest. Mancini seems made for him. Ganigan too. Bramble could be a tough out. Rosario would've been tough. Ramirez was a spoiler and I think his style would be difficult. But thats all ASSUMING he'd carry the weight OK.

He has the height and frame to carry that weight, how he handles different styles and being at the top for that long

Salvador might beat a couple of people, but there is no way he is beating Rosario, Bramble, Mancini, or Davis Jr.Hell, Camacho would probably take him too.

Good post. Arguello wasn't a finished product at 126. At 130-135 it's a different story. Mancini "SEEMS" made for Sanchez, but he seemed made for Arguello too! Pre-Kim Mancini was a different fighter from post kim in my opinion. The only threat Ganigan would pose would be power, and Sanchez went what -- 25 rounds -- with Danny Lopez, and never blinked, so we know the boy had a chin on him. It's just to bad we never got to see this kid fully develop.
