I made a joke after the Pav/Hop fight about Chad Dawson being the new guy who Joe would be ducking and like clockwork, those threads have started.

I find myself coming in to the Brit forum just for the fact it's good for the soul and saves me getting too wound up sometimes. Pavlik is just the next in line to have gone from hero to zero in one fight.

Yes, it's a strange shift in mentality you need when switching forums. I tend to post in the general forum just before and after a big international fight like the Hopkins one but I never last long.

The one I enjoyed the most recently was the "Bernard Hopkins - Now No.1 of All-Time" thread, total bollocks. Then all the deluded tits began to put on their all-time P-4-P lists, one of which had Sugar Ray Leonard 1st....and 8th...on the same list. Bravo.

There are some really good posters on the GF, but overall the percentage split of muppet to decent poster is about 95%-5%. I would say The Brit Forum split is about 30%-70%.

I think that's pretty much it. It's the most popular boxing forum on ESB, naturally, and therefore attracts the widest variety...which therefore includes a lot of keyboard warriors and the immature. It's the go-to place for fight hype and instant reactions, which makes it so volatile at times.

My pet peeve that one, this whole "Eurobum" B.S. they have, no European fighter can be considered world class, they are all over-protected bums with padded records because Americans can't recognise any of the names, just waiting to be exposed by the superioir American fighters. The best places too discuss boxing on ESB are the Brit forum, classic forum and the Euro forum. The classic is a bit too elite for someone like me so I just have a read of the posts there. The euro forum has good threads with knowledgeable posters but is a bit too quiet at times. The Brit forum is great, even when threads get a bit heated (ones usually regarding Hatton or Calzaghe :lol:) there is still respect between posters and no one resorts to 'stfu noob' and all that bollocks.

99% of the threads on the GF are just a pile of shit which is a shame as some of the posters know their stuff and make valid points but the majortiy are retards.

They never hang around though when I take them to task & demand a debate, then its bck to the general forum where they disappear back into the mediocrity they deserve to wallow in.
Harsh words? Not at all. Its simply the truth. The general forum is the easy place to hang out for posters from these shores who burn under the gaze of the magnifying glass that is British ESB!
& I love burning the fuckers like the insects they are when they dare have a pop at me when they feel the need to venture in here once in a blue moon:smoke

From my experience? Only the posters who dont like the microscope of this forum.
Every now & then, I get certain 'british' posters who frequent the general forum come in here simply to have a pop at my good self. They never hang around though when I take them to task & demand a debate, then its bck to the general forum where they disappear back into the mediocrity they deserve to wallow in.
Harsh words? Not at all. Its simply the truth. The general forum is the easy place to hang out for posters from these shores who burn under the gaze of the magnifying glass that is British ESB!
& I love burning the fuckers like the insects they are when they dare have a pop at me when they feel the need to venture in here once in a blue moon:smoke

When I am not on the Brit Forum I would usually hang around the Classic (the guys know their boxing history inside out); kind of like on here, intelligent debate with minimal mud-slinging.

As someone who is fairly new to the sport, I don't go in the Classic forum because I wouldn't have clue what or who they were talking about most of the time. My knowledge of classic boxing is basically "Hagler vs. Hearns" on Youtube, "When We Were Kings" and some guy who was rather great called Roberto Duran.

People post/repost the same question as on the next page.

Blatant nut huggery clouds that forum too much sometimes.
For instance after watching the Hopkins Pavlik fight I logged on the next day and I sort of half feared what I saw. The majority of posts were on Calzaghe! and how it enhances his rep or how B-hop would now crap all over him.
The amount of posts on how great a performance Hopkins had that night was overshadowed. :-(
