There you go, the WBC finaly annouced it. They forced Shaw to go to purse bid with Yvon Michel's group.
That will be a hell of a fight.

You still think Chad is ducking, or did it finally compute that he simply preferred the more lucrative opportunity against Tarver?

I was just trying to stir reactions my friend. Don't worry, I know Chad isn't ducking. And if you read all my posts, in one I was explaining that I understood he was going after Tarver, though I didn't think the WBC would let it happen.

great news, I am interested to see how Dawson will deal with Adrians power and pressure. Have they announced the venue, I heard Montreal was an option.

Just like when he fought Adamek, right JETSKI?
You f*cken hater.
He'll prove you wrong once more my friend.
I'm just glad he's not fighting tarver on the 29th of Sept as I'll be in A.C. for the Taylor - Pavlik showdown!!
Bad Chad Dawson

Gotcha. My bad, then.
I don't think it was the WBC, though. At least according to Gary Shaw, they couldn't find enough money to satisfy Tarver -- i.e., he didn't really want the fight.
It's fine with me. I'm definitely pumped about Dawson vs. Diaconu. I rewatched Dawson vs. Adamek again last night, and something about Chad makes me worry that he's more vulnerable to getting tagged than I first believed. But he's young and still improving, and obviously Adamek would be tough on anyone.

But you'll still miss his fight, which stinks. Can't feel too bad for you, though -- it's not like you're going to be at a wedding.

He's a hater and hasn't gotten over the fact that Dawson schooled his daddy.

I was at a wedding the night of Cotto - Judah, but made it home in time, no problem.
I have full respect for Diaconu even though I've never seen him fight.
If alot of people here think he's solid, he must be to some degree I guess.

I'm no hater. But I would like to see Diaconu take care of what Tomasz couldn't. Adrian presents a whole different style of fighter compared to Adamek. Chad will have his hands full.
It should be a wild affair!:!:

IMHO, even Chad doesn't know how strong Diaconu is. A lot of people say Adamek is stronger though I doubt it. He's got a nice record and all but Diaconu is brute.
We will see in Chad's eyes when he gets connected for the first time if he underestimated Diaconu or if he can handle it.
GO-SHARK-GO.

I wouldn't say he's solid -- he's wide open -- but he's definitely dangerous, with more handspeed than some sluggers. But if Chad fights intelligently, he should be able to pick him apart.
I suspect a lot of Diaconu fans are reading too much into the Hoye fight.

Lampley, I've seen more then the Hoye fight so my answer to you would be no.
He'S got a good defense. You haven't seen it against Hoye because Hoye got wooped. But in his previous two fights, he went the distance and showed a tight defense. So I wouldn't put my money on Dawson picking him appart.

You've seen him more than I have, so I'll defer to you. But if he isn't going to be aggressive, what sort of threat does he pose to Dawson? By my way of thinking, he can't expect to beat Dawson in a cautious, tactical fight, so his best chance is to pressure him and take chances to possibly get a KO.
Dawson has too many physical advantages for AD to try and outbox him.

Agreed. Diaconu won't outbox Dawson, but should try to use his strength to overwhelm Dawson. I like Diaconou but Dawson is too good.

I don't think Diaconu could outbox Dawson. But a flush right hand by Diaconu can put Dawson on the canvas, and even for the 10 count. I'm hyped for this fight!!! Diaconu's power > Adamek's.
If Diaconu gets the chance, he could knock him out, and no Im not a Dawson hater, but I think he will.

This I agree with, but Dawson's defense also appears to be steadily improving, and Diaconu's punches are a little slower than Adamek's, so it might be harder for Diaconu to tag Dawson. Part of the reason it's fun to watch Dawson is because you know he'll go down if he takes one square on the chin, but he's so fluid for a bigger fighter that he can actually avoid it with good head and shoulder movement most of the time. I'm predicting that Diaconu won't be able to catch Chad, but he'll sure make it exciting.

sounds good. although it might be fun to see Chad kick the crap out of Tarver, I would rather see him vs. Diaconu. Hopefully the fight will be in Montreal.

Alot of people are quick to jump the gun when it comes to fighters. They win one fight and suddenly they're a superstar. I saw Diaconu beat Hoye and I was impressed like everyone else but since I never had any regard for Hoye I took the win with a grain of salt. I can see Dawson's style frustrating Diaconu if he's on that night.

Just watched diaconu/hoye on youtube and can now say dawson wins this fight by UD with great confidence. Yes, while there are *****s in chads armor(his chin) a short squat guy with good power indeed but with no jab isn't going to beat chad dawson. Dawson is not upright like hoye which played into the sharks hands, and he is much quicker as well. chad will keep adrian from setting to punch with a simple double jab and great lateral and side to side movement followed by some leadlefts when adrain settles down. Chad should take this fight easy.
But, one fuck up and the shark can and will knock him out, but I see chad taking a confy UD.

Handing Adamek and Diaconu their first losses would put Dawson at #1 as far as I'm concerned. Hopkins won't be around much longer and Erdei deserves the anonymity he fights in given his choice of opponents. Honey Boy Blades and Danny Santiago? Please!!!

I concur. Dawson's list of opposition is steadily piling up. 31-0 WBC champion in Adamek and now a 24-0 WBC mandatory in Diaconu...though this fight poses many problems for Dawson imo, Diaconu is quite solid and has even more amateur experience than Chad does. Diaconu isn't boxing for a decision he is looking for multiple KD's or a straight up KO, after going to the body in the early rounds.
I'll say Dawson via late round KO in a wildly entertaining fight.
