Monte Barrett...David Haye's toughest fighter he has ever faced.

If you really think about it, David Haye apart from Mormeck. Has been beating people who weigh 190-200pounds, with decent boxing skills.

Monte Barrett in comparasion has been fighting, fighters who have outweighted David Haye's past comp by 30pounds on average.....Monte Barret has been fighting bigger guys......... at heavyweight all of his career.

On Head to head match ups, Monte Barretts comp is toughier than David Haye's.

Monte Barret could of probably dismantled Jean Mormeck, and any CW in the world.

Given that Barret has never fought at CW, I imagine he would find it very difficult to make the weight limit, and if he did he would probably lose from being severly weight drained. So the only comparison we can make is on a P4P basis, which is wildly speculative at best - I think Mormeck would have beaten a 200lb version of Barret, and dare I say it, maybe Macca would too (though most people have a hard time judging him fairly after he was dismantled by Haye.)

On a purely H2H basis? Well I should hope that Barret would beat CWs, as should any half decent HW. So Barret could be Haye's most difficult fight, but we shall just have to wait and see.

Yep Barrett is Hayes biggest and hardest fight and a huge jump up in class from guys like Enzo and the mentally shot to shit Mormeck.

don't forget many didnt think haye would win the mormeck fight and he was down...i have a niggling concern that haye may be another herbie at heavyweight...dunno if he'll stand up to the big guns...i could be very wrong of course...but i seen enough in thompson {although 4 years ago now} and mormeck fights to concern me...remember an early fight with lornga mock {spelling} a blown up super middle who knocked him down and had him in a lot of trouble at that point in their fight...long ago now i suppose though..

Barrets been facing heavies but that could be his undoing. The skill level is so shit that he might be in for a shock when he sees the moves Haye will pull off.

Barrets competition may have been better, but he always lost to the decent level guys.

i would rate hayes last 3 fights excluding bonin as tougher assignments. Mormeck for me is better than anyone at heavy.

Maybe, aside from Mormeck. Fragomeni had a tricky style too.

i agree. I like Haye and think he has talent but he thinks he is better than he is. I guarantee you that although he may get past Barrett he will eventually get Koed at Heavyweight. He has a shit chin and if you all remember Mormeck had him dazed at one point. He holds his left hands too near his bollocks, he needs to tighten up that defense abit.

I would say yes...Barrett's got quite a resume. He may not have won them all but he's fought them all and usually pretty well.

However, if Haye's dreams of heavyweight gold are for real, it's opponents like Barrett that he needs to look good against and get out of there within several rounds.

He's made a rod for his own back, he needs to perform well.

Understand what i am saying..

Monte Barrett could beat alll of David Haye's past comp, if there where no restrictions on Monte Barrett coming down in weight to make the CW limit. Monte Barrett would knock Enzo Mac out in 1 round, and possibly out box all the rest of David Haye's comp.

Technically Monte Barrett is David Haye's toughest fighter he has ever..ever faced.

Your from London for fuck sake. Why aren't you supporting Haye inside of bad-mouthing him?

He knows his chin isn't the greatest, he's said so many times, which is why he uses his upper body movement and reflexive speed to compensate.

Do you not understand why he keeps his left hand down? Do you not think he's been told many times that it's going to leave his left side more open? Do you not think that as a professional boxer he knows this himself? Do you not think if it was going to help him he would keep it up?

His left hand is fine, if he keeps it up it reduces his upper body mobility and there's more chance of him getting knocked out. He's going to find it more different to slip and roll punches. Also keeping his left hand low, he can lead with the left hook and throw the jab from plenty of different angles.

I think Haye's speed and power will easily see him past Barrett. The huge superheavies of today may be another question however.
