I'd prefer hatton myself - and i reckon Floyd is on the smart money here.
Saying that - Hatton ( with his very underrated footwork ) may be able to cut the ring off and with some leniency from a neutral ref may deliver the bombardment that is needed to win.
Cotto on the other hand could box more clever and not rely on one game plan...
Hatton has surprised us all though - so i reserve judgement - save for the fact that PBF chose Hatton over Cotto - which speaks volumes in my opinion.
Or would PBF take on all comers - the biggest purse dictates who?
i think judah showed that cotto can be outboxed and hurt, and i reckon a peak judah would have got the UD. so i don't think pbf is too weary of cotto, more likely wants to save him for later. i.e. if cotto manages to beat mosley then pbf will definitely fight cotto as his reputation will go through the roof!
hatton on the other hand has been calling out pbf for a while and looks very beatable to floyd, whilst possibly at the same time bringing more money to the table.
so yeah, if i was floyd i'd probably want to fight hatton more than cotto.

Cotto doesn't exactly have the best defense and has been put down by fighters who are not really in his league.

Everyone seems to think that Cotto is the tougher fight, but Cotto has been hurt or stunned far more than I've ever seen Hatton. Against Judah everytime Judah connected with a big shot it had Cotto visibly shaken.
I hope Hatton and Cotto get it on in the next year or 2, coz I think a lot of people could be surprised.

Aye - ring craftmanship - which Cotto seems to have in abundance compared to Hatton imo.
I would have actually preferred to see Hatton v Cotto - but that wasn't going to happen as i think Hatton has one fight left inthe tank - and he is going for the biggest payday - and why not.
If Hatton can keep his footwork as keen as his left hooks and ( a big if ) he can wear PBF's quick hands going in - i reckon he has a chance - a good chance in that scenario tbh.

Yeah - i reckon you're right. The calling out business and the money Hatton can generate was the deciding factor.
I can't help thinking though that Cotto is the big scalp out there - and both Ricky and PBF would rather be facing eachother than Cotto.
Maybe they should have faced him now rather than in 18 months -:yikes
Hopefully - if things carry on as they are - we'll see these match ups.
It's all good at the minute at the Welters :thumbsup

Perhaps it's me then - i just see Cotto as a clinical hard fighter - bruiseable but tough and a meaness to him.
Cotto is my type of fighter tbh :deal
