Knowing, still, that Vazquez can change a fight with one punch (like in the first fight), I still pick Marquez to finish him more quickly. TKO 5 or 6.

Still the younger, bigger fighter, with a proven ability to put down Marquez with a single punch. Marquez never did manage to put down Vasquez the first time, and Vasquez was dealing with that nose since the second round or so.

If the nose holds, Vasquez does what he was doing in the first fight: weather the early storm, and come on down the stretch as the older Marquez tires, taking a close decision or winning by late stoppage. My guess is Vasquez by late KO, probably in rounds 9-11.

I can't understand why so many people are picking Vazquez. I thought the first fight showed he couldn't handle Marquez's shots and, as if that weren't enough of a warning sign, he went and quit as well.

for me i'm going for Israel cuz in the 1st fight, IMO the momentum was going towards Vasquez, even with the broken nose before the stoppage. and while Rafa busted up Israels nose i reallly dint see him put israel in trouble like what happened when Israel cought Rafa. thats why i'm going for Izzy:thumbsup

I went with Vasquez last time but this timeI'm taking Marquez. I don't think Vasquez can deal with Marquezs' jab and overall arsenal. Marquez looked terrific at 122. Vasquez is still a very live underdog and this should be a fantastic fight. Just gotta go with Marquez by stoppage.

i hope israel wins so there's a third fight. when two figthers bond style-wise it's fun to watch. if you get such a great first fight it's worth seeing a rematch provided it's not a onesided beatdown like calzaghe/lacy. that fight was impressive as a calzaghe fan but not worth seeing a second time since it was so one sided.

Much closer fight than the scorecards indicated. Bad scoring, very interesting refereeing (the ref was literally pulling on the fighters' arms during clinches), but it was probably the right decision. I don't see how you could have given Lacierva more than 6 rounds, and since he was rightfully deducted a point, he gets the win. I really do hope he fights the winner of the main event - Caballero is probably my favorite fighter to watch.

Probably the dirtiest fight of the year though. Both sides flagrantly used about every illegal trick in the book.

Near the beginning of Round 6 Vasquez caught Marquez with a huge left hook that dropped Marquez. Marquez got up immediately and took an eight count, but was obviously still fairly hurt by the shot. Vasquez came in on him hard, and was landing some big shots, but in-between Marquez was coming back with a few of his own. Eventually the fight moved towards the bottom left corner of the ring, Vasquez landed a few more shots and the ref stopped it. However, Marquez had still been throwing punches, attempting to dodge, and wasn't getting hit all that cleanly during the final flurry. imo, pretty early stoppage. Not Manfredo/Calzaghe level but pretty bad.
