Talipeau wants a bout with Waters

AUSTRALIAN middleweight boxing champion Junior Talipeau has thrown down a direct challenge to fellow Sutherland Shire rival Ryan Waters.

Talipeau, who trained with Waters for several years, said he was sick of the talk between the two camps and wanted to get in the ring with Waters next year.

``I hear stories from his mates telling me he wants to put the fight on,'' Talipeau, 24, said.

``If he is serious about it, he can come and approach me one-on-one and we can sit down and talk about it. I'm sick of everyone talking about it, so I'm coming out now and saying if he wants a fight we will get it on.''

Talipeau spoke out in the lead-up to his Australian title defence against Robert Toomey this Friday. Talipeau is trained by Waters former mentor Al Sykes.

``We would pack the house-out,'' Talipeau said of a bout with Waters. ``[We can fight] for the Cronulla title. It will be Danny Green versus Mundine at Cronulla.''

Waters defends his WBO Oriental light middleweight title against unbeaten Indian-born middleweight, Pradeep Singh, 21, at Sharkies Leagues Club on November 28.

Talipeau makes his return to the ring after a six-month break because of a knee injury in a game of rugby league.

``I blew up,'' Talipeau, 24, said. ``I put on about 10 kilograms.''

He described Toomey as a bit of a brawler who is ``always in your face''.

``He hasn't been stopped yet, so I am planning on being the first,'' he said. ``Probably with an over-hand right, my signature punch.''

Toomey, 27, goes into the fight at the Roundhouse in the University of NSW with seven wins (two by knock-out) from his 11 fights.

Talipeau, who is trying to add to his 11-bout winning streak, spent time sparring with Kogarah's tough Sakio Bika, who has gone to the US for a world title fight in the super middleweight division.

``To come back and defend your title straight away is going to be a hard thing,'' Talipeau said.

Supposedly Water edged the sparring sessions they had but I think Jnr can get him with a few more bouts under his belt. Toomey is a great start.

the guy is a grub! i know one of his fiance's friends and she says he hits her occasionally.

the thing about the incident at the club ryan tried to get in the club pissed and was refused by the the womans boyfriend who is the bouncer there and she is the licensee. ryan refused and hit him. she tried to step in and she got hit too. black eyes and broken nose from her.
it is still going to court. ryan was on probation when this occured

so doesn't look good for the wanker!!!

He had bouts at welter in his late 20's makkat and appears to have only once gone over the jnr middle limit, even in non-title bouts.

Interesting bout...The best I have seen of Singh is clearly better then the best I have seen of Waters but its really hard to say if Singh can regain any of that former potential, especially fighting so sparsely over the recent months.

For the record Ryan will be defending himself against the false accusation in Court but as you and most people are aware, it’s amazing what lengths someone will go to, to make a few extra bucks, the video footage of the event will prove this.

Is now a successful promoter, which most of you will never be. The fight was announced by Andy Raymond on the FOX telecast last friday.
Supposedly Taylor's people approached Junior's team late last week.

There have been numerous statements to the police (i know this as ive saw her face and drove her to the police station) but she always gave him a chance as he made excuses he was trying to sort himself out and from what I rememberr he used to pick his kid up from a police station. no one who really knows ryan well is surpised he ended up in court his been in trouble like this for years and always got out of it someway or another, dont lie and surely defend a guy and say his never hit another women when you dont know anything but what he wants you to know or what you want to believe about relantionships his had with others. he may come across a nice guy and to some he is but theres others out there who also know the other not so nice guy. its not jealously its karma
