PROVIDENCE (October 29, 2008) – The Contender, Season Three winner Sakio “The Scorpion” Bika plans to cash in after an impressive win November 13 against two-time world title challenger “The Pride of Providence” Peter Manfredo, Jr., runner-up in Season One of The Contender, for the vacant IBO super middleweight title in the 12-round main event headlining “Tough & Tested” at the newly renovated Dunkin’ Donuts Center in Providence, Rhode Island.
Great news for Bika.....this is a fight he can win...I think he will stop Peter.

Hes not fearless though he has turned down some pretty good fights witht he likes of Librado Andrade, Edison Miranda and Anthony Mundine (Confirmed in the SMH 2 weeks ago).

Tough one to call. I think late on he will dominate. Early it could be Manfredo.
Manfredo really should be fighting at 154, hes pretty silly

I don't think he can make 154lbs anymore. Hasn't for 3 or 4 years from memory. I think it'll be a tough outing for Bika. Here's hoping.

Bika is going to be very rough against Manfredo also he has a good height and reach advantage.....Bika WIDE UD

If thats the case, then im sure he can make 160 quite easily. His skill is good, his movement is okay, his chin is okay aswell. I just couldn't see why he wants to fight at SMW instead of MW. At MW he would have a lot going for him.

Bikas game is to outhuscle his opponent. Rely on power, with wild loopy punches and constant pressure. In the clinches, smaller opponents become very tired, this is where Bika has had his most success.

This fight maybe a bit closer than I was first thinking.
Manfredo did well against Lacy and I thought he may have taken that fight......while Manfredo KO'ed McCray in 2 rounds a few months ago while Bika went the distance with McCray last year.
I still think Bika will be strong and push Manfredo around enough to land a few of his big shots......Bika CLOSE UD.

Mate u can't compare the McMcray fights with both. What about when Bika and Manfredo fought Calzaghe, what happen there?

Manfredo froze against Joe and the big stage.
Manfredo wont freeze this time against Bika as he has the big fights under his belt. Notice against Lacy he was much better.
You do have a pont however I just think the fight will be closer.

Styles make fights and it is very hard to judge the outcome of a fight by looking at shared opponents

When I look at fights all things are taken into consideration....past history, home town advantage, number of fights and shared opponents.
We can look closer at why Manfredo won by KO and why Bika went the distance against the same guy within 1 year however all I am saying is the fight maybe closer than I was first thinking.
What do you think the result will be and how did you come to your conclusion?

His jab is a lounging jab. It's pretty effective. He won about three round against Bute with his jab alone.

It depends how well prepared and motivated Bika comes in on the night. At his best he won 5 rounds against Bute...so...he's pretty good.

bika is one tough dude, very strong fighter, and hes very akward also, he done well against bute, prob could do better in a rematch i reckon....
his jab is very decieving because its not so clubbing people think it isnt very damaging however it is pretty accurate and has a far bit of power behind it and is very long reach give opponents trouble...
i think bika by stoppage round 9 much the same as he did against codrington go toe to toe for a long time till they get worn down...

"I wasnt hurt i was just waiting for him to stop throwing punches":lol::lol:
Someone needed to tell Manfredo that Joe stops after round 12

I Believe that sakio will stop Pete in the 11th or take a very dominant points win.
I came to this conclusion because i dont think manfredo will be knocked ouy early as he will probably get on the backfoot and box smart, but at the end of the day sakio is a couple of inches taller and much stronger.
Manfredo wont be able to handle Sakio throwing everything and the kitchen sink for 12 rounds. The bigger, stronger, more agressive man will win.
