Vitali is the best heavyweight in the world. Vitali will beat anyone in the world.
Vitali Vs. Mayweather. Vitali by knockout. I hope this fight happens, but Void wants to fight a flyweight next, then Christy Martin. Angelo Dundee (2004): “He was on the way to becoming champion against Lennox Lewis, the fight shouldn’t have been stopped. But, you know, that’s boxing sometimes. The cut wasn’t in a dangerous place. It wasn’t bleeding into the eye. |

Yeah, I don't see how crying after a loss shows balls and character in losing. He gave it his all, but dammit he was paid millions to, he better. I'm not laughing at him or anything, but I think the balls and character stuff was an overstatement. Should we really pat on the back every fighter who does what he's paid to do and fights hard even when losing?

If I were Mexican, I'd be far more embarrassed by both Cristobal's performance and his conduct than with Juan Manuel's last week. Cris should have taken his cues from the real Mexican.

I knew Vitali's skill would be too much for Arreola's. It does not help that he came in 10lbs over his ideal weight either. Unfortunatly to be the champ, you need to be more than just a big puncher...

No he fucking didn't. If he actually would've taken his training seriously, improved on his skills, and lost that excess weight then he would've been giving it his all. He got exactly what he deserved for his unprofessionlism and I don't feel sorry for him one bit no matter how many crocodile tears he weeps.

Arreola is a true warrior... And YES warriors do cry... They cry out of disappointment from a defeat... Some warriors even will kill themselves (suicide/harakiri) after a defeat...
If Arreola is one reason why I love boxing, Vitali is another reason I love boxing... This guy is the heavy favorite here having the obvious advantage in size, reach and experienced over Arreola... But look at Vitali, he didn't play it safely, he did take a lot of risks and throwing a lot of punches... Unlike some proclaimed best boxer in our sport who already has all the advantages over his opponent but still avoids to take risks and his fights usually resulted as boring, safety first, potshoting, running game... . |

Speak for yourself dude!! Respect to Chris for having the balls to step up to the plate and accept this opportunity, albeit at short notice.
However, it's well documented, and he's openly admitted, that he's not the easiest or most dedicated person to train. I personally take no pleasure or find no positives in hearing that he was taken to school and steadily pummelled by Klitchsko. Too much heart and limited self discipline in this sport is a recipe for losing, and losing badly. There can be no providence in getting hurt to the extent that you risk becoming damaged goods!! I'm really sorry to hear that he cried when the fight was stopped, as losing wasn't in his mindset. And as a proud fighter I'm sure he'd be cringing with shame at being pitied and loved for being a "tough assed" loser. But, I'd bet that this reaction was also a consequence of Chris immeadiately realising that there was so much more that he could of done to prepare himself for the challenge!! If he can find the self discipline, and the effects of this fight are not long lasting, he has every chance to still become world champion. |

Much respect for Cris, the last time someone managed to finish the 10th vs. Vitali was 7 years ago. Arreola has a true Mexican heart, also some skills people fail to recognize, just the Klitschkos are sublime when it comes down using their height. Vitali was too good. I don't think it's the last title fight of Cris, but until then, we might only get match-ups not half as exciting and this was.
That's why I kept insisting that this fight deserved a MUCH bigger build-up, probably an LA double-header first and hell, a 24/7 could've been the most memorable ever, so this fight could've meant a lot more to the US, German, international public. These are great guys not some fake idiot cherry pickers. Cris won a lot of hearts yesterday. I liked him before, now I just love the guy! |
