He never KO'd the copper just got away from him & ran away to the amusement of the crowd. Prior to that there was a bigish bald fella who went for some other fella but no real punches exchanged.
Saw a bit of trouble at the bars around the seating but i think it was to do with other issues rather than Quigley v Smith. So i take it the lads i overheard talkin were bullshittin then as per usual!! Some people talk shite for talkin shite's sake |

what did you reckon of the entrances? I thought atmosphere for when smigga went to the ring was utter quality, the way the whole crowd was going "woo ooo woo oo" "you're a real gone kid" was ace |

sorry to harp on, but i have just watched the fight again, as all this bollocks about tony bullying smith, and winning the fight has got my goat.
I am not saying it was a classic, or a display of exquisite boxing skills or anything like that. But...... i watched the frank warren footage, and colin hart summed up quigley in one perfect phrase. "tony qugiley is more of a wrestler than a boxer" couldn't have put it better myself. dont get me wrong, tony did some good work in the fight, and i can understand people thinking it was close. But the fight was won in the championship rounds where quigley looked out of his depth, and clung on for dear life on a number of occasions. But i say this. get it one more time to seal the deal, and prove a lot of people wrong. |
