Let me just say first that my original post was with the intention to correct you in your original statement, which btw you pretty much acknoledged that you were wrong, which pretty much clears everything.....

I have never said that what the WBO did is something knew, but just because isn't knew it means that we have to accept it.... at least I don't accetp it..... it is a matter of principles.... I guess you go alone with them and their corrupt decisions.....

Regarding the fight, Pac already fought at this weight class before against DLH and without limitations (147), so he isn't "moving up once again" as you stated.

Ranking a fighter overnight is something that has been in practice from the governing bodies since the dawn of the idea of "Ranking" fighters.

Once again, I have never said that this kind of activities are knew.

And YES! It was to begin with a Title fight. Cotto decided to hold his title as ransom to get more leverage at the negotiation table. Smart business move b/c he got more money. PAC didn't care aobut the title but Roach did. He wanted history for his fighere which was the ONLY reason he decided to take ths kind of risk with PAC.

It doesn't matter what Cotto wanted to do with the title... he was not obligated to defend his title against Pac if he didn't want to.... after all Pac wasn't a ranked contender....

And yes.....things should be done accordingly which is why this is a title fight. Nothing is new here....just like nothing is new regarding catch weights. By the way...LOVE Cotto. One of my favs along with PAC but I see this fight as a very meaningful fight in which its a true championship match up between two of the very best in the sport. I just see pac winning.

You just keep saying the same thing, "Nothing is knew here", over and over and over, and over again.... basically you know that what the WBO did is wrong, but you are trying to justify yoursef, or trying to justify the WBO, which is worst, and therefore you have to repeat the same thing, because there isn't any reasonable explanation.....

To finalize my comments let me just say that I believe that I am not the only one who dislike these type of actions.... I have read in the past on this and other boards many posts regarding this issue and many other related issues, so I know that there are posters out there who really care as boxing fans for a better sport....

Enjoy the fight

I agree that it's BS but I got over it a long time ago. Who gives a shit about a worthless paper title? What's important is that we should all be treated to a great fight next week.

And PAC is once again moving up in weight after he moved down in weight. Or did you forget he actually faught Rick at 140? Don't beat yoursefl up kid. Mistakes happen.

I'm not sure what principles you are are speaking of. There really isn't an exact science to the rankings especially when truly speacil/great fighters....smaller fighters decide to move up in weight. When they do usually the governing bodies have to decide on how to rank them......and they do accordingly. There is not exact science to how they rank fighters wihtin their own divisions, so it's not like a blatant robbery.

Cotto isn't obligated to fight at at all let alone put his title up. He did so as a man and as a champion.....so who are you or I to question what he does as a champion and a man? PAC wasn't ranked as a WW? The WBO thought he was. LOL.

I don't think the WBO did anything wrong.....you do! I'm just saying I"m not sure why you feel as if they did b/c there is "nothing KNEW here". It's the sport of boxing and how it's been for years. For you to say its wrong is like you telling a hooker she suck a dick wrong when there really is no way of truly telling because there is not exact method or science to the rankings especailly in this kind of situation.

I'm sure there are a few who have warpped and irrational views like you....and it's all good. I enjoy the debate although we disagree. It's all good. You enjoy the fight too...if you can get past the whole ranking and putting the belt up at a catch weight issue.....or NON issue with how I view things. Later.

Agreed! IT's a great fan freindly fight where we all will win! The belts mean little but for PAC I think it's great. 7 titles in 7 divisions is history. If he can win! We shall see.

its alot less bullshit than the fact they give sugar ray leonard credit for winning the WBC 168 and 175 pound titles in the same night
