has anyone ever tried this and does anyone know the relationship between consuming painkillers and performance????
i have a badly bruised metatarsal in my thumb which i have had for a few weeks which became more aggravated on thursday in a fight, also i had no warm up for the fight which has lead to both my elbows being sore from over extension and my index finger on my other hand is also sore, for my next fight in the tournament im considering taking 2 or 3 nurofen mainly for my thumb as its in a bad way what you reckon |

If youve ever used opiates (either for pain or for abuse) you can tell you certainly dont have a lot of energy on them and I couldnt imagine trying a very physical activity like fighting.
You can get something local injected into the hand but that sounds like a very very bad idea to me. Pain is there to protect your body and then you are punching with a broken hand and making it worse and wont fully realize how bad it is because you cant feel it. edit Quote:

When I was a punk I used to do stimulants before sparring regularly. Did fine with it. Helped alertness and reaction in my opinion. Bleed like crazy though.
