Well good on you Teeto. Sometimes as a Tyson fan one is made to feel like a leper, which is nonsense.
I hope you liked the shot of him and Duran, and it's nice to know they have always had a strong mutual respect. Duran first met Mike just before the Spinks fight.
Tyson was relaxing in his hotel room on the day of the fight when one of his handlers walks in and says: "Some guy wants to fight you."
Tyson gets this mean look on his face, but then sees Duran walk in.
He jumps up and embraces Duran, who had a few words of wisdom for Mike. "Throw the right hand," said Duran, "He's open to the right hand."
Both knockdowns of course came from right hands.

Tyson was quite the fan of movies involving superheroes like Superman, once quoting verbatim from Superman 2: "Why do you mock me when you know I will kill you for it?"
Is it possible he read comic books occasionally? Yes. Is it possible Tyson, a man who always looked to certain powerful figures for guidance or who often imitated influential people, tried to copy in a way what he saw in comic books? I don't think it's such a stretch to say so. Mike often even imitated the speech of people like Cus and Jimmy Jacobs, right down to the mannerisms, which he got spot on.
Why Mr. Fixit? Mr. Fixit was a bit of a throwback who looked like a 1930's Chicago gangster. He..."fixed" things. A wiseguy, a tough guy. A guy who took no nonsense. Someone Tyson may have warmed to, and tried to imitate.
...Or of course he simply liked hats!
I do indeed read them.
The Fixit/Wolverine stuff is a good comparison between Mike and a lot of his opponents, actually. Wolverine himself is a rough character, a badass. And then Fixit shows up on the scene and eclipses even tough guy Wolverine, taking none of his shit and looking like an even bigger bastard to boot.
More or less what Tyson himself did to other "tough" people in the sport.
I never would have thought of the Fixit/Tyson comparison, to be honest. But it's just about perfect. The absolutely square shoulders. The suit. The thug mentality draped in a expensive suit but still eminating that break your legs feel.
