Aaron Williams Demolishes Tinsley, Makes ESPN’s Play of the Day

williamsUndefeated cruiserweight prospect Aaron Williams (13-0-1, 10 KO’s) knocked out Deleon Tinsley on ESPN 2’s “Wednesday Night Fights at the Foxwoods Casino in Mashantucket, Ct. Also, Williams’ stunning knockout made the #3 “Top 10 Plays of the Day” on ESPN’S Sports Center.Williams stunned Tinsley with right hands and left hooks in the 1st round. A combination, early in round two, dropped Tinsley for a six-count.

Moments later, two devastating right hands knocked Tinsley down and onto the judges table. A count wasn’t necessary, as referee Joe Cusano immediately waved the fight off at 1:18 of round two. The knockout brought the packed house and #2 WBC rated cruiserweight Matt Godfrey to their feet as Godfrey “high-fived” his CES stable mate from his ringside seat.

“He was very awkward,” Williams said of his opponent. “I hurt him very early and knew it was just a matter of time.”

When it was mentioned that this was the second consecutive knockout where a Williams’ opponent was knocked through the ropes, the 21 year old Williams responded, “They’re going down; they have to go somewhere.”

The Las Vegas based cruiserweight is scheduled to appear on the next CES show, August 10th, at the Twin Rivers Casino in Lincoln, RI.

Williams is trained by former WBA Light Heavyweight Champion, Eddie Mustafa Muhammad and managed by Albert Falcon and Patrick Doljanin. He is promoted by Jimmy Burchfield’s Classic Entertainment and Sports.
