Bernstein To Preview Ward vs Kessler / Ward V Kessler on Primetime in UK

-- click here to watch the Al Bernstein Boxing Channel on ESB -- Hall of Fame Showtime Broadcaster Al Bernstein calls the November 21st Mikkel Kessler-Andre Ward Super Six World Boxing Classic match, “potentially one of the best of the tournament.” Bernstein, who will be at ringside with Gus Johnson and Antonio Tarver to call the action on Showtime, believes that this first round Super Six match-up features the two best ring technicians in the tourney. “Mikkel Kessler is close to a textbook boxer and he has power added into that mix. Andre Ward has a vast amateur background and has moved carefully through the pro ranks, so he has fully developed as a fighter. They both have a high skill level and I believe they will produce a terrific fight,” Bernstein said..

Al provides a full preview of this match on The Al Bernstein Boxing Channel (ABBC) at www.ibnsports.com . The ABBC will also provide on sight coverage of this fight to be held in Oakland California.

This match concludes the first stage of the Super Six World Boxing Classic. In round one Carl Froch won a decision over Andre Dirrell to gain two points in the standings and Arthur Abraham stopped Jermain Taylor in the 12th to put three points up on the scoreboard. The Ward-Kessler match can be seen on November 21st on Showtime. For more details on this and other Showtime sports programming, go to www.sports.sho.com.

Super Six World Boxing Classic Super Middleweight bouts continue with Ward V Kessler on Primetime

When: From 3:00 am 22nd November 2009
What: Andre Ward V Mikkel Kessler
Where: Primetime: New satellite channel 480

After successes from Arthur Abraham and our very own Notts boy Carl Froch, the Super Six World Boxing classic super middleweight bouts continue this weekend live on Primetime with the final pairing in the first round – Andre ‘Son of God’ Ward V Mikkel ‘Viking Warrior’ Kessler.

Primetime goes live to Oakland, California as the favourite Kessler takes on the sleeper Andre Ward. Coverage starts Saturday night 21st Nov at 3:00am (22/11/09) and is available to Sky customers via Box Office or streamed online at www.primetimelive.co.uk. At only £5.95 for a super middleweight bout of this calibre it’s a bargain not to be missed. Primetime will also be showing repeats of the fight the following week in case you miss the live event.

The Europeans have so far held serve in the opening group stage and now all eyes rest on Danish Kessler the current WBA super middleweight champion to keep the Americans at bay. Regardless of the outcome Froch will meet Kessler in the next round and Saturday’s fight night will be a great opportunity to see what lies ahead for The Cobra. Froch himself is confident of his match saying:

“I’m looking forward to it. Win, lose or draw when Kessler fights Andre Ward he will be next for me, and he’s getting knocked out then as well! He’ll stand and fight and when I catch him he’ll go, unlike Dirrell who wanted to play kiss chase. Kessler’s a proud man. He’ll box and move.”
