WBC Female World Title Showdown in Melbourne, Australia This Friday November 20
By Srithar Visuasam: Sunday 20 December will see a WBC world title on the line at the Malvern Town Hall in Victoria, Australia. The night will be a joint promotion between Victoria’s leading promoter Peter Maniatis and Michael Yang, the premier boxing promoter in China.
The for the WBC female middleweight world title will be on the line with undefeated champion Wang Ya Nan (7-0, 3 KOs) of China against number two contender Kenya, “Crazy” Charity Mukami (4-2-1) from Kenya over 10 rounds..
Wang Ya Nan has now moved to base her in Melbourne, Australia and endeavours to challenge Laila Ali in Melbourne, Australia next year should she be able to defend her crown against Mukami.
At 24 years old, Wang Ya Nan is a big name in China but not well known yet in Australia. “I think Wang is the future of World Female boxing and can move up in weight divisions to win more world titles hopefully for Australia, l know she is keen to fight Laila Ali” said Maniatis.
Other fighters to feature on the night include Heath Ellis who will be competing for the IBF Pan Pacific welterweight title, The Contender Australia’s Pradeep Singh and WPBF bantamweight champion Mark Quon.
