When Juan Manuel Marquez knocked Manny Pacquiao out with the punch of the century, most people thought it represented the final nail in the coffin for a Mayweather-Pacquiao clash. That perfectly timed right hand not only put an end to Pacquiao’s recent aura of invincibility, but also seemingly sealed the fate of what could have been the biggest fight in boxing history.

 A knockout success! Amir Khan helps raise over £83,000 for Typhoon Haiyan AppealLast Sunday night at the Hilton Hotel in Bradford, Amir Khan hosted a sell-out fundraising dinner for Islamic Relief’s Typhoon Haiyan Appeal, which caused huge devastation in the Philippines last month.

Over 500 people from all across the country attended the black tie event and a staggering £83,400 was raised to help victims of the disaster by the end of the night.

The fantastic total was raised through ticket sales and an impressive charity auction, which featured rare items including a signed Mohamed Ali boxing glove, Filipino boxer, Manny Pacquiao’s boxing shorts, one of Usain Bolt’s famous running shoes and a special meet and greet with Amir Khan at his own gym, Gloves Community Centre. Headlining the five fight card hosted by promoter Murray Thomson, the main event between Dunn and Alta possessed two power punchers with strong knockout ratios, which presented the likely scenario of a knockout win to whoever emerged the victor.

BATON ROUGE, LOUISIANA (December 1, 2013) Former world champion Jeff “LEFT HOOK” Lacy returned to action following an almost three year layoff with a stunning third round knockout of Martin Verdin at the Belle of Baton Rouge Casino in Baton Rouge, Louisiana.
