Dariusz Michalczewski - Polish
Dynamite

- Dariusz Michalczewski, although relatively unknown
in the America's public, is one of the most feared
light heavyweights in the history of the sport.
His anonymity is probably
the only reason why the public even bothers' to mention
such a blatant washed up coward like Roy Jones as
one of the silly pound for pound best in the sport.
Michalczewski, 43-0 with
36 knockouts, has so far defended his WBO light heavyweight
title a record 18
times, and has held it since 1994. Amost
every boxing expert in America knows how good he is
and more people are beginning to understand that Roy
Jones is ducking him out of fear. He's a typical Polish
fighter, fierce body puncher, who has ruled the sport
with calculated viciousness that has broken fighters
spirits as well as their bodies. He prefers to fight
the best fighters in the division as opposed to the
soft opponents that Roy Jones dines on.
His fighting style would
best be described as all out aggression, as he is
attacks with reckless abandon until his opponent is
left broken and defeated on the canvas. There is nothing
pleasant about Michalczewski in the ring, as he is
a cold blooded executioner, who calmly and quietly
destroys his opponent. He is emotionless, and machinelike
when he is in the ring, leaving many of his opponents
feeling as if they were attacked by an animal. (hence,
where Michalczewski get's the nickname "The Tiger")
He started his last fight
by attempting to decapitate Ka-Dy King, for the first
two rounds then he settled down and gave him a hellacious
beating. (ending with King KO'ed in the 7th) As usual,
King found out what all Michalczewski's other opponents
have found out, that he can flat out punch! King later
said "Every round was pain, I fought back well,
but it was not enough. He is to strong, has too many
abilities and experience."
Michalczwski, derives
from Poland but immigrated to Germany and now lives
in Hamburg, where he trains with Fritz Zdunek (trains
Klitschko brothers and Juan Carlos Gomez as well).
In his 18 title defenses
Michalczewski has has scored 15 knockouts. Among Michalczewski's
18 title defenses are victories over Montell Griffin
and Virgil Hill. Whereas, Roy Jones had great deal
of trouble with Montell Griffin in his first fight,
Michalczewski toyed with him before knocking him out
in the fourth round.
For three long years
Michalczewski has been calling out Chicken Roy Jones,
but nothing he has done can get the coward into the
ring with him. Instead, Jones makes a myriad of excuses
to explain away his failure of nerve "I don't
like to fly on airplanes"...."Michalczewski
isn't well known enough for me to fight him"
and finally "The money ain't right for the fight."
Believe me, these are only a few of the many, many
excuses that are used to substitute for Chicken Jone's
shameful cowardice.
The truth of the matter
is, Chicken Roy Jones hasn't been the same boxer since
his defeat of James Toney in 1994. Ever since then,
it's been one long slide down into mediocrity and
complacency.
Ducking competition is
what Jone's does the best, as he has refused to face
Gerald McClellen, Nigel Benn and Chris Eubanks when
they were in their prime. Why didn't chicken Jones
fight these guys? I'll tell you, cause he's sniveling,
no good, coward, that's why.
The window for this fight
was about one year ago, and now Roy Jones has slowly
destroyed his own reputation by refusing to fight
top level fighters. There is no reason why this fight
hasn't happened now because clearly the public wants
it and there are every reason in the world to make
the fight because of the huge financial payoff for
both fighters.
Unfortunately now ole
chicken Jones says he is going to move down to the
168 pound division because "I've already beat
everyone in the light heavyweight division."
In that remark, Jone's basically admit's his cowardliness
for all to see. What can you do when someone who is
hyped as much as Jone's, chooses to run and hide?
The answer is to dismiss him and focus on real talent.
Besides, who has Chicken Jones beat aside from James
Toney in the past 7 years? Oh, I forgot about that
awesome Derrick Harmon that he just finished struggling
with in his last fight. I stand corrected.
One thing is abundantly
clear: Roy Jones is not capable of fighting at the
top level in the light heavyweight division, as he
has struggled with all his opponents since moving
up to the division.
In contrast, Dariusz
Michalczewski leaves no doubt to the outcomes of his
matches, as his performances are so dominating that
most of his opponents are beaten into submission by
the 6th round.
Clearly, Jones see's
what we see in Michalczewski, a fearless, straight
ahead, fighting machine and that's what makes him
so scared.
For all the bluster Chicken
Jones made about moving up and wiping out the Cruiserweight
division and then fighting as a heavyweight against
Lewis or Holyfield, the sad truth is he doesn't have
the size or power to rule even the light heavyweight
division.
I give Michalczewski
a lot of credit, he has unmistakable class. Not only
has he destroyed his entire division, but he has done
it in style that has left no question as to the outcome
of his bouts, as he has knocked out his last 8 challengers.
