Mike Gonzalez returns to Peoria

Undefeated lightweight prospect Mike Gonzalez will face veteran Jamie Alvarado at the PAR A DICE Hotel and Casino in East Peoria, Illinois on Saturday April 7th, it was announced today by Dominic Pesoli, President of Chicago based 8 Count Productions. The Gonzalez/Alvarado main event headlines RUMBLE IN PAR A DICE, an evening of world class professional boxing presented by Dominic Pesoli’s 8 Count Productions, HOME OF THE BEST IN CHICAGO BOXING and the PAR A DICE Hotel and Casino, “The Friendliest Casino on the Water”..

Tickets for RUMBLE IN PAR A DICE, starting at $35; can be obtained in advance by calling 1-800-PAR A DICE, ext 5843. The PAR A DICE Hotel and Casino is located at 21 Blackjack Blvd. in East Peoria, just 2 hours south of Chicago.

Gonzalez, a native of Bayamon, Puerto Rico, currently residing in Milwaukee, Wisconsin, sports a record of 9-0-1 (8KO’s). The hard swinging, highly regarded prospect thrilled the PAR A DICE Hotel and Casino crowd on September 1, 2006 with a crushing second round knockout of Donnell Logan.

Said Gonzalez, “The PAR A DICE was a great place to fight. The crowd last September was very supportive and I’m looking forward to putting on another great show next month.”

Alvarado, a native of Mexico City, now residing in Fort Wayne, Indiana, brings a record of 7-5-2 (4KO’s) into the bout with Gonzalez. Last year he won two decisions over former Indiana State Champion Ruben Galvan.

Said Pesoli about the matchup, “It’s a terrific bout between two highly skilled, hard hitting young guys. Throw in the Puerto Rican/Mexican angle and this should be an outstanding matchup.
