Ibragimov Destroys Mora at The bell!

10.03.07 - By Izyaslav “Slava” Koza: If a message is what Sultan Ibragimov wanted to send Shannon Briggs then that is exactly what happened as he destroyed Javier Mora. To be fair, Mora came at Sultan right at the opening bell and that turned out to be his undoing. Sultan turned on his full weight and laid into a devastating uppercut with his left which put a stunned Mora down. As the ref let a shaky Mora continue Sultan, completely unphazed and completely pissed, came at Mora and unloaded a barrage that eventually allowed 2 punches to get through on a hurt Mora on the ropes. The referee wisely stepped as allowing it to continue would have left Mora without consciousness.

After the fight, Sultan stated he wanted to get Briggs in the ring because Briggs talked to much. His manager, Boris Grinberg, stated if Briggs was not ready, they would go after anybody else. Sultan added he was ready for a Briggs fight in June or July and gave a shout out in Russian to all his fans.

On the undercard Roman Greenberg won a lackluster decision over game but overmatched Michael Timms.
