Guinn vs. Chambers on ShoBox May 4th

HOUSTON, TX (March 14, 2007)-Former heavyweight contender Dominick Guinn 28-4-1 (19 KO’s) who has been wanting that one fight to get himself back in the mix of the heavyweight picture has just signed a deal to face off against the undefeated heavyweight contender Eddie Chambers 28-0 (16 KO’s) May 4th at the Palms Casino in Las Vegas, NV to be televised on Showtime’s ShoBox: The New Generation..

Guinn, who is coming off a second round knock out victory over journeyman Zuri Lawrence this past February on ESPN 2 Friday Night Fights, is looking to produce another strong performance over a credible opponent, and with his sights set on Chambers, Guinn knows a win over the Philadelphian will move him up a notch closer to realizing his title toting dreams Dominick explains “This is going to be a good tough fight, it is just one step closer to get me to the heavyweight championship.”

Chambers is coming off a seventh round TKO victory over the then unbeaten Derrick Rossy where Eddie earned himself the vacant USBA heavyweight title, and he has proven to be tough foe. The twenty-four year old has handed out losses to the likes of Ross Puritty, Robert Hawkins and Ed Mahone and Guinn knows he has a tough task ahead of him but relishes this opportunity, “Chambers is a tough, credible, fast, slick and crafty guy,” explains Guinn, “I know going into this fight it is going to be a tough one, he is undefeated so he is not a push over, but I am going to go out there and prove once again that I am not washed up and that I am on my way back.”
