"He's a little brat that talks too much," Ndou said of Malignaggi. "A kid from Brooklyn who can talk underwater, but I'm going to shut him up. He went the distance with Miguel Cotto, but I did much better than him when I took the fight with Cotto on one weeks notice. I'm going to beat him up in this fight and shut him up. He won't be able to talk anymore once I've finished with him."
26 year-old Malignaggi (22 wins, 1 loss, 5 knockouts) is known as the "Magic Man". He enjoyed a fine amateur career, collaring both the 1998 and 2001 Golden Gloves championships, and was also the 2001 United States Amateur Champion; the 2000 Empire State Champion; the 2000 Mayor's Cup Champion; and the bronze medal winner in the USA National P.A.L. Championship. He had an outstanding 40-9 overall amateur record, giving him an excellent foundation to turn professional.
35 year-old Ndou (45 wins, 8 losses, 1 draw, 30 knockouts) was originally born in Transvaal, South Africa and is now an Australian citizen and resides in the southern suburbs of Sydney with his family.
Ndou became the IBF's super lightweight world champion after his thrilling 11th round stoppage win over Naoufel Ben Rabah on February 4, 2007 at the Homebush State Sports Centre.
