Steve "USS" Cunningham Appears on NBC-10
28.05.07 - Philadelphia, PA (May, 28 2007)-After an eighteen hour flight and as soon as he received his luggage at Philadelphia International Airport, brand new IBF Cruiserweight champion, Steve “USS” Cunningham was whisked away to the NBC-10 studios on Philadelphia’s main line to make his first appearance as a world champion on the 6 o’clock news with sports anchor John Clark.
Sporting five stitches in his left eyelid due to a butt that Cunningham endured in the first round of his title winning fight against Krzysztof Wlodarczyk on Saturday in Poland, Cunningham told Clark “It’s cool on all types of levels because I am a Philadelphian like Bernard Hopkins, Meldrick Taylor, Joe Frazier and I am in that group now in a sense. I just want to defend my title like those guys have”
After enjoying his Memorial Day, a holiday that hits home to the former member of the U.S. Navy , The “USS” Cunningham will set sail on Miami, Florida and attend the IBF Convention.
