Vitali Klitschko should Face Hasim Rahman in his comeback. They have unfinished business!

01.06.07 - By Dave Domenico: The last we’ve heard, Vitali Klitschko is planning his return to boxing this September to continue the Klitschko dream of both brothers being simultaneous champions. Vitali Klitschko has a match tentatively scheduled against a yet to be named top ten opponent. There was a recently posted article that mentioned a potential matchup between Rahman and IBF champion Wladimir Klitschko (Vitali’s brother). That particular fight makes no sense to me.

In 2005, Vitali Klitschko who was the WBC champion was scheduled on three different occasions to face Hasim Rahman. Due to Vitali’s sudden retirement, that fight never materialized. Do we all remember the hype and staredown that led up to the fight? I do, and I must admit it sold me. This is not rocket science, but it makes a heck of a lot more sense to me that Vitali and Hasim get in the ring this year.

If Vitali wins it kills any doubts that he was afraid of Rahman. In addition, if Rahman wins, it puts him right back into title contention. In conclusion, I say, Bring on “Vitali Klitschko versus Hasim Rahman!” The all the important ingredients are there to make an important and intriguing matchup. Make it happen people!
