Australian Boxing: Boxing Explosion On June 23

Red Hot prospect William Kickett, undefeated from 4 Fights will be taking on the tough Thai, Thongcharoen Sunwannasil in the Main Event. Australia’s greatest trainer Johnny Lewis predicts rising star William Kickett will be the ``next Lionel Rose’’..

``He's right up there with Lionel Rose at the same stage of their careers and with the hand and foot speed this kid has he can be as exciting as Anthony Mundine.

``He just has to keep a level head, train hard and listen to his trainer Craig Christian and he is going to be something really special.

``Boxing needs stars like this kid. He’s doing things in the boxing ring that some fighters can’t do after 15 years of training.’’

Lewis was speaking on his 2SM radio show in Sydney.

Sunwannasil will be a tough opponent for young Kickett; Sunwannasil has been in the ring with current World Boxing Council World Featherweight Champion In Jin Chi.

Should Kickett be successful he will be challenging Mohamed Elomar for the Australia Jnr. Lightweight Title on the Danny Green Undercard on the 18th of July at Challenge Stadium, Western Australia.

Also on the card will be Commonwealth Featherweight Champion “Action Jackson” Asiku, 23 Fights, 20 Wins, 10 K.O’s. Asiku only 3 controversial losses on his career to World Rated Boxers Nedal “Skinny” Hussein, Fahprakorb Rakkiatgym & former World Champion Gairy St. Clair.

Also on the card will be Undefeated World Boxing Foundation Asia Pacific Champion “Iron Ryan” Langham, “Willsy” Adam Wills, Robbie Bryant, Rob Powerdrill & Erin McGowen.
