felix sturmThe "Universum Champions Night" on Saturday June 30th 2007 at the Porsche-Arena in Stuttgart features three world championships as well as other great fights: World Champion Felix Sturm (27-2-0 (12)) will jeopardize his WBA championship belt at middleweight at the "Universum Champions Night." His opponent will be the unbeaten WBA-Fedelatin-Champion Noe Tulio Gonzalez Alcoba (14-0-0 (7).

The 28 year old Uruguayan Alcoba, who currently lives in Argentina, is called "El Carbonero" (the collier). He is a typical south american fighter and a tough challenge for Sturm. The fight will be shown live from 10 pm on ZDF.

Felix Sturm: "I’m feeling great and I wanted to fight very soon after the bout against Castillejo. The 3rd capture of a world championship belt was a very important moment in my career as I’m now crazy about boxing. Universum accepted my wish to fight again so soon. A fight in America would also be very interesting. I’m hoping to fight the best and unbeaten boxers in the world which include Jermain Taylor, Winky Wright and Kelly Pavlik. Regarding a possible fight against Artur Abraham: at first he must face Khoren Gevor and a winner hasn’t been named yet! After that fight we will see what the future will bring. I’m really looking forward to my fight at the “Universum Champions Night” in Stuttgart and I have said a few times that I would like to fight there some time in the future. I have a lot of fans down there! Alcoba will be a tough challenge, he is unbeaten and a typical South American fighter!”

Also Noe Tulio Gonzalez Alcoba is prepared and highly motivated: “I have seen some videos’s of Felix previous fights. It will be a very hard fight with a big show. I want to become world champion, for me and my country. My life hasn’t been easy and I want to make it better now!”

World champion Alesia Graf returns to her home town

Another highlight of the night will be the fight of „The Tigress“: The Universum championess and local hero Alesia Graf (16-1-0 (7)) will return into the ring in Sturgart after one year, it will be her 6th appearance in Stuttgart. Her challenger for her 4th title defence of her GBU belt will be announced shortly.

Alesia Graf: „After such a long break I’m back in the ring and I’m ready fort his. I’m looking forward returning to Stuttgart and show what I have learned in the past months. I’m the champion and there are a lot of opponents who want to take it away from me but I’m the best. The new Porsche-Arena, in my hometown of Stuttgart, gives me an additional motivation and the fans are very close to the ring. I like that atmosphere and they support me lot.“

For the first time Julia Sahin defends her WIBF belt

Another female champion in the ring will be Julia "Sunshine" Sahin (17-0-0 (2)). The WIBF world champion at flyweight will defend her belt for the first time since winning it in January 2007 against the Russian Anastasia Toktaulova. Her opponent will be the hard hitting US – American Hollie „Hot Stuff“ Dunaway (19-4-0 (10)), who lost against Regina Halmich by unanimous decision just two years ago.

Julia Sahin is expecting a great atmosphere in Stuttgart: „After I won the title in Düsseldorf, so many things have changed in my surroundings. I had a lot of media attention with photo shootings etc. – it was a stressful time. I have a regular job as a metal worker with the transportation service in Cologne, but they always support me and give me a lot of time to prepare for every fight. At the moment I’m in intense preparation for the fight against Hollie Dunaway, who is a very strong challenger. She is listed in the Top 5 of the world rankings I’m really looking forward to Stuttgart as I already heard so many good things about the arena and the atmosphere in there.“

The 22 year old American Dunaway is looking forward to Saturday: “Since my last fight in Germany, against Regina Halmich, I haven’t lost and I’m hoping that my second appearance will be more successful – I want this belt!”
