Battle at the Boat XXV: Saturday, December 6, 2003

08.11.03 - The 25th installment of the Northwest’s most popular boxing series “Battle at the Boat” continues on Saturday, December 6, 2003. First Bout starts at 7.30 p.m. The main event will feature the northwest’s most popular fighter, Seattle’s Kenny Ellis (30-5-2) also known as the Emerald Assassin. Kenny will be moving up in weight class for this fight to face the tough journey man fighter Ronnie Johnson (22-17) in a super middleweight bout.

Ellis is coming off of a tough loss to Kingsley Ikeke after the fight doctor stopped the fight. “That fight should have never been stopped because of that cut,” said promoter Brian Halquist. “Now we need to re-group, fight consistently and move higher in the rankings. This was a temporary set back for us but we are back!”

The Semi-main event will feature Canadian super middleweight champion Mark Woolnaugh fighting Carlos Bunema for the Canadian American Mexican light heavyweight title. This will be a classic match up. Woolnaugh is known for his clever boxing style while Bunema is a brawler who comes to fight.

The undercard will be announced soon.
