Opponent Change For Ricky Hatton

17.05.04 - Antonio Mesquita will NOT be Ricky Hatton’s WBU World Light-Welterweight title challenger on June 12 at the M.E.N Arena, it will be the Argentinian Carlos Wilfredo Vilches. The 27-year-old from Santa Rosa comes in with a top record of 48 fights, with 41 wins and 25 KO’s. Vilches has held the South American and Argentine Light-Welterweight titles and has challenged for the WBO Latino Welterweight title.

Hatton said, “I am waiting for some more tapes on Vilches but from what I have seen so far he looks like a real tough nut as most of them are from South America,”

“The training is going fantastic at the moment and the sparring will start this week. I’m just looking forward to getting in the ring again and keeping busy hopefully I can get in another two fights before the end of the year.”

Tickets, priced at £150, £100, £60, £40 and £30, are available from Keith Prowse Ticketing: 0870 906 3839 and the M.E.N Arena Box Office on 0161 930 8000 or online at www.frankwarren.tv/tickets
