Mutley, 31, never could get untracked from the moment the fight started, as Lynes fed him a steady diet of hard jabs and right crosses, which kept him largely under control..

Mutley continued coming forward despite the incoming fire from the 29-year old Lynes, and by the 6th round, Mutley looked like he’d lost all patience and was merely hoping for a minor miracle to happen. It didn’t.
In the 8th round, Lynes hurt Mutley with a wicket right hand, prompting the referee to give Mutley a standing eight count. Shortly thereafter, Lynes opened up with a beautiful flurry of punches, each catching Mutley cleanly to the head, before finally dropping him to the canvas with a finishing left hook. The referee Richard James Davies then moved in a put a stop to the bout at 1:11 of the 8th round.
