Glen Johnson Stops Moore in 5th round KO!

27.07.07 - By Jeff Bastasini: Former light heavyweight champion Glen Johnson (46-11-2, 31 KOs) destroyed an over-matched Fred Moore (30-7, 27 KOs) in the 5th round tonight at the Sheraton Miami Mart Hotel in Miami, Florida. Still taking it slow after losing his IBF light heavyweight title to Clinton Woods in September, 2006, Johnson, 38, toyed with Moore for the first four rounds of the fight, allowing him to trade with him. However, in the fifth round, Johnson opened up with the heavy artillery and found that Moore wasn’t equal to the task of taking the shots. Late in the fifth, Johnson blasted Moore with two powerful shots to the head, sending him to the canvas. The referee, Frank Gentile, quickly moved in and called a halt to the bout at 2:45 of the 5th round.
