Happy Birthday, Herbie Hide!

Hamburg, August 28th 2007 – Officially former World heavyweight champion Herbie Hide celebrates his 36th birthday today. According to himself he feels like 26 instead. "I am getting younger and younger!" states the "Dancing Destroyer". And everybody who watches Herbie in his trainings sessions starts to believe that it might be true..

The two-times WBO-champion is in great shape and hardworking as always. His next goal is the EU-Cruiserweight championship since the European Boxing Union (EBU) declared the man from Norwich madatory challenger of champion Giacobbe Fragomeni from Italy.

Hide: "I can't wait to get into the ring with Fragomeni. I will definitely knock him out and hopefully go straight on to a World Championship bout. I want to show the world that I am still the Master of Disaster, the Dancing Destroyer!"

His stable mates had a special present for Herbie when they painted (and signed) a picture for him. "Mini-Tyson" Selcuk Aydin proofed to be the most talented artist with a faible for modern, abstract art. Selcuk: "I drawed two matchstick men who are congratulating. The whole thing was more like a joke. Herbie is a nice guy, he is always smiling and we are all laughing a lot together."

While everybody in the arena Gym was celebrating, CEO Ahmet Öner announced that the WBC International Championship bout between Juan Carlos Gomez and champion Oliver McCall will most probably take place on October 19th in Berlin.

Öner: "This will be a great match! I am really looking forward to seeing McCall and Gomez clash again. I am sure that Juan will win the bout and go on to fight for the World Championship. He knows that this is his last chance to get his hands on the gold and he will not let it pass!"
