02.06.04 - Bernard Hopkins, stepping out of a gold limo, walked into the MGM Grand Hotel-Casino on Monday and he is "fired up and ready to fight on Saturday night." TV crews, press and fight fans were in the MGM when Hopkins walked in. The champ went into a raised boxing ring in the hotel lobby and the undisputed world middleweight champion showed off all three of his world title belts - WBC, WBA and IBF.
"I'm making my 18th world title defense on Saturday night," Hopkins said. "Believe me I am not looking past Robert Allen. He is my ticket to get to Oscar De La Hoya into the ring this fall."
Hopkins vs. Allen will be televised on HBO Pay-Per-View this Saturday night.
